Maybe a dumb question about Intermediate workouts...

So if I'm doing Intermediate Level 3 day 1, it says 3x5 of each movement. Does that mean I do three sets of five reps of each movement with a rest in between, then move on to the next movement? Or do I do each movement 5 times, three times through with no rest? Sorry for the confusion, I'm just used...

Gone, but not really...

I haven't been posting around here for the past month and a half... not because I lost my momentum, but because I now have a surplus of it. I did a Crossfit bootcamp and it was awesome... I feel transformed! I now have 7 kipping pullups (1 dead hang), and 14 consecutive full ROM pushups. Yippee!!

I work in an industry (film/tv) that is extremely demanding and often unrealistic when it comes to what a body should look like. What kills me is that a woman with a body that looks like it could actually DO stuff (lift, carry, run, etc) is much more appealing than someone who might break in half if...

A Different Sort of Testimonial

A lot of these posts are about inches lost, or strength gained, or weight or chicks asking what on earth you've been up to lately and would you like to have a drink sometime... but here's something different. I've been at this for about a month, currently at level 4, leveling up next week. I still c...

I read about Tabatas a while back and decided to try them out. I described them to my husband, he seemed game, we went to a park and did sprints... holy @#$& it was hard. And THEN I mentioned to him that olympic level athletes sometimes puke after these workouts. He hasn't let me live that down just...

Thanks for the encouragement! I have excellent pushup days when I feel everything is aligned perfectly, and going down almost to the floor is a piece of cake (this usually happens on D1 or D2), and sometimes I feel like I'm ripping my sternum in half when I reach the bottom of a pushup. Onwards and ...

aaaaand back on the wagon we go.

L4D1: 27 rounds... an improvement of two rounds since last time

My pushups are consistently deeper (soon I'll be touching my chest and chin down) and I've dumped body rows in favor of a 3:1 ratio of jumping pullups.

2:30 of plank.

maybe a little rushed... I've started doing pullups with a jump, holding at the top, and releasing (3:1 substitution)

pushups need to develop greater depth.

Thanks for the tips... I videoed myself, compared to the crossfit vid. Weight on heels, check. Shoulders aligned with ankles, all the way down, check Good lumbar curve (although I think my torso could remain more vertical. this could be key) I think the secret is going to be slowing them down... aft...
