3/20/09 Strength. The boxing gym's weight room is somewhat underwhelming, mostly Smith rack and dumbbells and a few machines. Hmmm. Boxing, but instructor didn't show, so worked out on my own. Heavy bag mostly, 3/1s, then some pullups and ab work.

Strange times. Working out, but haven't posted a few days. Started training boxing for real at LB4LB in LA, and it's a killer. L5D1 -- 18 rounds.

Should've gone a little harder, was worried about running out of steam on the pullups. Finished off with 3 rounds on the heavy bag, 3/1s. THAT did the trick.

5 minute jog, then 1/2 intervals x 5.

Fast was around 9 mph, slow was around 5.5. Had to take a 1 minute walk twice rather than run, just too gassed.

Then ran out 5 minutes at 6 mph. Total about 25 minutes.

2/21/09 Long slow run through the Wilshire District. About 4 miles, about 45 minutes. 2/22/09 L4D3 -- 5:00 exactly. Crazy. The good: Cranked out 10 full dead-hang pullups to start. The bad: Could only manage sets of 3, then 2, after that. So wasted from the effort, could only do pushups in sets of 1...

Ran 18 minutes, then 6 rounds 2/1 on the heavy bag.

2/18/09

Started L4D2, bailed out because of shoulder pain after 2 rounds. Might have pulled something on the heavy bag. Fast-walked the dog instead for 40 minutes.
