Week 1 - D3L1

Week 1 Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 D3L1: Total: 2m 47s I used the Gravitron machine for my pullups, in lieu of inverted rows. I'm starting to feel stronger already with my pullups, but will take time to do a real one. Also, the last few pushups kicked my ass - I'm not sure if I should count the 21st? Sq...

Week 1, D2L1

Week 1 Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 D2L1: Round 1: 37s Round 1: 37s Round 1: 37s Round 1: 36s Round 1: 43s Total: 3m 10s Note: I used jumping/negative pullups. Got an Iron Gym pullup bar today, so wanted to try it out at home. I substituted 2 jumpers for every 1 pullup, so only 2 jumper/round today at leve...

Thanks a lot for the info on lifting. I don't want to get into it yet, as I mentioned (about 3 months out). It's motivating to hear from someone who has. Much appreciated.

Cool, I've read really good things about Starting Strength. Have you bulked up a lot? I don't want to particularly get bulkier, but add mass (to effeciently burn calories) and tone.

Stronglifts?

Hi Zorg,

Are you following the Stronglifts 5x5 program? I'm looking to do it after a few months of dropping weight/better conditioning via Simplefit. How long have you been lifting?

Thanks,

Jason

Cool. Sprints sound fun and challenging. All the way up to when I turned 30 I weighed between 175 - 185. Once I turned 30 it seemed like I magically gained 30 - 40 lbs. About 5 years ago I think I got up near 240, which is scary. Now since I'm turning 40 this August, I want to drop my spare tire. Pl...

I actually get dizzy when coming off of a treadmill, so I don't use them. That doesn't happen when I run outdoors.

Sorry, I meant to post this cardio workout in my log. Goofed up.

Wednesday, Jan. 7, 09 - cardio

Wednesday, Jan. 7, 09 Did about 4 minutes of jump roping in 30 - 45 seconds intervals. Would have gone longer, but like a doof I wore my sweats that don't have a string to tie them up, so it would have been embarrassing to keep going. The sweet thing is that my fitness center has a couple of racquet...

Sprints

Hi Austin, I came to Simplefit on a similar note - I looked/tried CF and knew that I wanted to be better conditioned before attempting more CF. I like that SF has a few core exercises to focus on and a similar thing as CF with the times. I saw you're doing sprints too. I was thinking something along...

Losing LBS

Hi XD45, I hear you about the weight. I actually joined Weight Watchers a few weeks ago before getting back into exercise. My wife joined a little over a year ago and she has lost a little over 30 lbs and looks great. The best thing about WW for me is that it's helping me be aware of my daily intake...

Thanks Austin. Yeah, I didn't think of the benefit of the inverted row, with regards to the back muscles.

Jason B's Log

Hi Noob here, I just started today so here's my first posting. Didn't do great or bad. I probably could have pushed it a bit more, but wanted to pace the first week. Looking forward to cranking it out after I'm better conditioned. Jason *************************************************** Week 1 Tues...

Hello, new to Simplefit

Hi There, My name is Jason and I'm just about to start Simplefit. A friend of mine turned me on to Crossfit last week. I did one day of it, reviewed all of the prior workouts and realized that: 1. I'm not in great shape (yet) and 2. I would rather focus on some basic structured exercises before jump...
