Week 16, Day 1

We decided to repeat L1D3 again with me switching to 2 bands vs 3. Hubby was also kind of achy from swimming yesterday and a bad back. Me: 1 minute 44 seconds Hubby: 2 minutes 20 seconds (he did 31 push-ups and 31 squats.) I was shocked that I did better (time-wise than last week) with less assistan...

Back from vacation....

We got back from vacation last Monday night, but it took some days to get over the jet lag and get back into a routine. We started over with L1D3 today doing pull-ups instead of body rows. Me: 1 minute 53 seconds (I used pallet bands.) Hubby: 2 minutes 27 seconds (he did 31 push-ups & 31 squats.) Fo...

Week 14, Day 1

I had a slight stomach bug this week, but met with the trainer again on Monday for a pretty hard circuit workout. I cannot even remember everything that we did, but I managed to keep my breakfast down, so that was good. Hubby and I did the workout she had given me before on W&F and today I did L8D3 ...

Week 13, Day 1

I got a new workout from the trainer I met with 2 weeks ago, so we decided to try that for M-W-F of this week and then repeat L8D3 today. Me: 5 minutes 41 seconds - that is 57 seconds faster than last week, so I was pretty psyched. Hubby: 4 minutes 16 seconds - that is 49 seconds faster than last we...

Good luck and welcome!! I have been very pleased with the results (even though I am still working on doing a pull-up) of this program. I never thought I would be able to do 100 push-ups and now can, plus body rows have really made a difference in my biceps (a notoriously weak spot for me.) I do the ...

Week 12, Day 3

We got back from our trip out of town mid afternoon, took an hour or so to let lunch settle and then headed downstairs to do L8D3. Me: 6 minutes 38 seconds Hubby: 5 minutes 5 seconds (last 20 squats were a little sloppy, so he was not upset about coming so close.) We were both really happy with thes...

Week 12, Day 1

We started on level 8 today after 2 days of "active recovery" last week. It was hard for me(I knew it would be anyway) because I worked out with a trainer yesterday and my legs were pretty sore today. L8D1 - Me: 20 rounds :( L8D1 - Hubby: 23 rounds Followed up with abs (weighted bicycles, weighted b...

Yes, you do all of the pull-ups, then all of the push-ups, then all of the squats. If you have to take a breather in between reps to get all of the pull-ups, that IS counted in your time.

Week 11, Day 2

    100 squats
Me:
  • 35 pull-ups
    50 push-ups

Week 11, Day 1

This week is our active rest week, plus we are going out of town, so we may not get all 3 days. Based on that and a great tip from volleyball_man, we did a non timed four set workout tonight using our brand new pallet bands from McMaster-Carr to help with pull-ups. They are awesome!!!! I ordered 4 b...

Thanks VB!! I just ordered some from McMaster Carr. It is funny, I used to order a lot of stuff from them when I was in school and at my old job. Who knew those things could have so many uses?

Pull-ups

Yes, I have tried and still no real success. I came to the realization a couple of weeks ago that body rows were really not helping me get stronger to do a pull-up, so once we get through the initial 8 levels with the body rows, I am going to work on pull-ups, by doing assisted ones and negatives. W...

Week 10, Day 3

AT LAST - SUCCESS!!! at least for level 7. I felt really good going downstairs to do L7D3 today and managed 80 body rows without stopping for a breather. That allowed me to have another breather between body rows and push-ups (I had determined that was where the nausea set in normally) and yea, no ...
