I know what you mean. I've been sidelined from most activity for the past few weeks because of a whole pile of things, and then just managed to damage my lower back at work (WCB!) so I'm constantly miserable and grumpy... makes sense now that I realise I haven't been getting my regular activity leve...

Fri, June 1, 2007 - Stage 3, Day 1: 16 - Absolutely exhausted. Went as hard as I could but just couldn't get to my goal of 1/min - Tired because 35'C heat is really draining energy from me at work (I'm a parks worker) and at sports (1.5hr soccer practice last night and 1.5hr soccer game tonight). Le...

kipping? semi-kipping? I'm ignorant on that... what does that mean? Grats btw. I just meant that I was *close* to getting the rhythm, but not completely. Still a bit jerky and eventually after just a few the whole thing breaks down. Kipping is just using your whole body to get the pullup in a faste...

Tues, May 27, 2007 - Stage 2, Day 3: 3m40s - Managed 3 "semi-kips". Still tough to get the rhythm, but I'm getting better. Followed with a set of 2 semi-kips too. Last 8 pullups were 3x assists. Arms were done at the end of it. - Incline pushups with only 1 stop. Just about cost me my face on the 26...

Sun, May 27, 2007 - Stage 2, Day 2: 4m50s
- Pretty decent, wasn't too difficult now, just was shear time of required reps that took up too much time.

- Of course, my buddy goes and does the Day 1 and kicks my butt - 42 sets. Ouch. Oh well, competition does wonders for performance.

Quick pullup question

Hey guys. I've been at this for a few weeks now, and I'm now finally getting close to chaining together larger groups of pullups in the exercises. The thing I'm noticing is that the ends of the motion are really weak for me, while the middle of the motion in either direction is getting powerful. How...

Friday, May 25, 2007 - Stage 2, Day 1: 31 sets - Sweet! Got 9 unassisted pullups! Not only that, but on the downward motion, I'm able to just sit dead with my arms at 90' or even higher. Full power through the whole down motion too. I'm lovin' it! - Closing in on the 30s/set. I had 10 sets in just o...

Tue, May 23, 2007 - Stage 2, Day 3: 5m32 - Improved almost 1m15 on the last time I did this workout! Sweet! - Feeling a lot more power during the pullups, even though I can still only do 2 unnassited. The downwards path I started pulling my legs up to prevent me from just relaxing/dropping through t...

Training Music

Was thinking about this today while I was getting ready for my workout. I normally use my iPod to listen to music, but when I'm at home, I just don't like to do that. I use a cd player so I started compiling CDs of music. Just figured it might be a fun idea to share lists of songs for people to chec...

Fri, May 18, 2007 - Stage 2, Day 1: 23 reps - Did the first 15 sets of pushups from an incline. - Going to try to build a stable box to do the jumps onto. I'm thinking some form of rubber matting on the underside and topside to prevent slipping. My shed that I workout in has a smooth cement floor, s...

Ah, perfect. I guess I was just wanting to mix it up. I'll try out some of those variations this cycle. Thanks!

Alright, cool. What about for the pushups and the squats that I have no problems with? Or no vest across the board?

Wed, May 16, 2007 - Stage 2, Day 3: 6m52s (I think, I accidentally reset it before marking it down) - Got 2 fully unnassisted pullups! Sweet deal! Rest were little jumpers off a chair to the pullup. Lots of resistance on the downwards path as usual. - I'm still looking like I'll be staying at Stage ...

Sun, May 13, 2007 - Stage 2, Day 2: 15m06 - I included my 4x2m rest intervals in there. So the workout itself took about 7m. - On the sets of 3 pullups, I managed to get 1 unnassited pullup (and a hold at the top!) and then would do 6 assisted pullups from there. I can see full sets of unassisted pu...
