Interesting. The wikipedia article says that "runner's high" corresponds with muscles using up their stored glycogen. Doesn't that mean you're now running on fat? (The article claims you're running purely off oxygen but as far as I'm aware that's actually impossible) It could just be the opiate effe...

Quite a strong chorus of stick with the program there. See, the reason I'm thinking about it is that when I do the 20 min workout it reaches a point in the second half where I feel different, like my body has fully gone into exercise mode and has engaged all systems, there is probably a proper expla...

So I fell off the wagon, truth be told I was taking creatine the whole time... then I ran out and didn't have the cash to buy more, workouts got a lot harder and I lost the drive to continue. I've just started again at level 1, no creatine this time. Did 35 rounds and couldn't manage the last couple...

Just did level 3 day 1. Did 26 rounds, with some fairly suspect pullup form. I was surprised how quickly my arms got tired compared to previous levels, until I realised that it's literally twice as many pullups per round at this level. Will stay at 3 until pullup form gets better. Did a few planks o...

I'm fairly sure he's talking about doing the entire workout at that speed

Either that or doing one round of each day and level and seeing how far up the levels you can get from 1 in a single workout.

Yeah, typo, L2D3. The OAP (hehe, in Britain that means old aged pensioner...talk of 'banging one out' and 'doing them at an angle' is rather humorous to me) was just me having a go. I'm not sure if there is a certain form that you have to use, but I had my legs out quite wide for balance and structu...

Glad to have you harboz. Whether the fish oil reduced your soreness or not it's a good think to be taking, the omega 3/6 imbalance of most western diets is said to mess with all kinds of things including brain function, so anything to tip it back the other way is wise.

I'm not a doctor or medically trained, but was it a GP or a doctor that specialises in sports injuries? Many GPs get very little training on this sort of injury and how exercise affects it. Also, did you specify that these were not weighted squats? Most people when they hear squats think of weights ...

L1D3......4:52! Although like last week I was juuuuust getting those pullups from about 9 to 13...still, I'm going up to level 3 anyway to see if I can cope. I am hereby making a solemn promise to not go above level 3 until I can comfortably do all the exercises with good form for all required repet...

Voted 5. Heh, on Something Awful that's usually something you say when you just gave the top rating to a really good thread, so it caries 2 meanings here.

Taifun: Yeah, I never used to give it much thought but lately it's really been showing me how important it is. Just did L2 D2 in 4:12, made up most of the improved speed in squat rate. Took the full 3 minutes rest between rounds. Going to try and shoot for under 5 minutes on Friday, wish me luck guys.

L2D1. 32 rounds, woo! Did 25 last week, so I'm pleased with the improvement. It's possible the improvement is merely down to me properly hydrating and eating before the workout though. Next week should confirm or disprove this.

What about smoothies? They have more of the flesh in with the juice.

This little bit of advice isn't really deserving of its own thread so I thought I'll put it here. If you're lazy like me, and you just want something quick, but you're bored with plain meat/poultry, rubbing some spice into the meat before you cook it really does make a lot of difference. My personal...
