osteopath advice - pulling exercise complement

hi folks, I've been a long time lurker here... nearly got up to level 4 once (completed level 3 in time) but never been able to keep a program going regularly for more than a couple of weeks (usually I end up getting sick - don't know if its connected to the exercise). Anyway I recently had some bac...

My stretching recommendation is "Fitness Stretching" by John Jerome. http://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Stretching-John-Jerome/dp/0285635069/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1222634888&sr=8-13 I read this book years ago and it is what originally got me more interested in taking care of my body. Has a coup...

day 2 idea - slow as possible?

Hi, I've always been a bit confused about day 2 - there seems to be a contradiction between being rounds for time and it being a 'strength' day. Anyway I had an idea I think I'm going to try - day 2 is for time, but the goal is to take as long as possible. Only time spent actually doing reps is coun...

Thanks - actually my original undergraduate degree was maths as well, so with this I'm ok with that stuff but the biology is all new...

It's nice to be doing something so much more applied than I was before...

Great list there! Where did you find it? Definitely going to try the stomping grapes (love the simplicity) and neck nods - hadn't heard of them before but they seem very simple and effective. Can't quite do lemon squeezers - I can't keep my legs straight... feels like that's strength/flexibility in ...

I'm studying computational neuroscience... The thing I just handed in was a model of a small part of rat somatosensory cortex, but the project wasn't very successful. I actually don't have to do a defense or anything for this - it was a funny course with two dissertations... anyway I'm transitioning...

Hey, I went the other route - I went up to level 2 even though I was doing body row subs and still can't do proper pullups. For me I thought the extra volume would do me good - after all its not very much time spent exercising (day 2 and 3 usually between 5-10 minutes) so I thought once you get belo...

L2D1 - 27 rounds... Subbing 3 x body rows at quite sharp angle as before. Back after taking my rest week completely off and working on handing in my dissertation. Then I had a twinge in my shoulder for a while - I'd tried to do grease the groove type pull up attempts during the week. Seems OK now th...

L2D2 - Strength day replaced this with weights... really want to build up technique on core lifts with a view to doing crossfit one day and also getting stronger quicker... So: back squat 5x5 20kg overhead press 5x5 20kg deadlift 5x5 20kg dips 5x5 (4x5 + 4.5 really - missed the last rep of last set)...

Was in two minds about moving up a level before getting pullups sorted out and doing day 3 stuff broken into fewer sets, but decided not to worry and I think the extra volume will do me good... L2D1 - 23 rounds (3 x body rows) (which is the same as when I first did L1D1, although then I was doing ne...

L1D3 - subbed 3x body rows - quite a sharp angle I think - I end up at about 45deg at the top.

4:45

Quite pleased with this - still a lot of work to go with pullups though.

L1D2 - as standard, with body rows subbed

6:50

Did some more pressups and core work at the end...

Still not completely happy with the body rows but for the last round I found a better setup in the space I have...

Don't you need to use two towels? If I use one then my hands are really close together in the center of my chest.
I think I need to use two, hold one with each hand at shoulder width apart...

Is this what other people do?
