The squat frequency is as much as the last weightlifting routine I did. Bill Starr's 5x5. However, I have never done front squats and can not even get the barbell in the correct position when I try. I think I am going to give this a shot next Tuesday. I am still going to hang around the forums and w...

Routine change question

http://stronglifts.com/beginner-strength-training-program-ii/ I found a really cool weight lifting routine at this site. I really would like to try it out right away. Do you think there is anything wrong with putting simplefit on hold at level 3 and trying this for about two or three months and then...

10/19/07 - Thursday

Partners and I did more sprinting today. We would sprint for as long as we possibly could. Did it 12 times. It was a tough workout.

I read a really cool e-book by Pavel the famous Russian author. It was called the Naked Warrior. The book was mainly about the one legged squat AKA the pistol and the one armed push-up. Some tips I remember are... 1. Use your non pushing arm and make a white knuckle fist behind your back. 2. Squeeze...

Also walked again. *EDIT* Just noticed my last L3D2 time was way lower but, I said I had made a mistake with the timing. Today I used the stopwatch on my computer so again not...

I use to buy the carton egg whites. I compared the whites to the nutrition facts of the egg beaters and they were pretty similar. The whites are more expensive I believe. I normally buy a few cartons of egg whites and a dozen omega-3 eggs. I would use anywhere from 3/4 - 1 cup of whites and 1 full o...

The only supps I ever really used regularly were whey and a form of creatine. I used to add 5 grams of creatine monohydrate to my workout shake. I was using a whey isolate and gatorade powder with a 2:1 carb:protein ratio. Fish oil is the only other one that I would use regularly as well.

I just did something like this pretty similar a few days ago. It's in my workout log but anyways we did it like this...

Black = Squat
Red = Push up
Any face card = 5 burpees
Ace = 1

No jokers.

The burpees made it a bit challenging.

Awesome, scumdogg cleared it up perfectly. Thanks guys. I think I'm going to incorporate your strategy as well and mix it up now and then. Wowza, the planche looks very difficult. I am still struggling with learning to hold regular handstands. I do not use the wall to support myself because I've tri...

10/13/07 - Saturday L1D3: I did not time todays workout. It's a rest week and I know it was definitely under 5 minutes. No stopwatch. Finished off with the same grip strength routine from last workout. Also did a fair amount of jump rope with workout partners. I watched some Buddy Lee (I think thats...

You know I never noticed the workout section had pictures but, I did notice this... "While lying horizontally face down, raise and lower your body using the arms while keeping your back flat. Try to keep elbows close to your sides." Ok...now in the picture you linked his elbows seem to be opposite o...

What is the correct way to do a push up?

I've been working out with a few partners lately and have been noticing different methods of push ups being done. I do my push ups with my elbows close to my body. My partner does his push ups with his hands and elbows further out. They look like two completely different push ups! Which one is the c...
