1/20/09 Dr. visit for checkup, 171 pounds, all seems good. Walked fast 30 minutes with 22 pound baby strapped to me, periodic insane bouncing, which she finds eternally hilarious. 1/21/09 L2D2: around 5 minutes. Ran it :55, :58, :58, :59, :55. Finished off with 21 pushups, and 15 each crunches/reve...

Wow, back at it, after only like 3 months. No excuses.

Started at Level 2, just for kicks. Tough.

L2D1: 27 rounds

Finished up with 18 extra pushups (TMFS's pushup challenge, day 18) and 30 or so crunches on the stability ball.

I was skinny as a sideways dime until I turned 35 - then suddenly put on 30 pounds so fast it was shocking. Like 6 months. Crazy. I'd recommend sticking with plain-vanilla pushups, running the SF plan as rx'd - the tricep strength will catch up as your body adapts, likely very quickly. On strength d...

Stomach flu! Wow, that sucked. Think I'll be taking a few days off, eating saltines and drinking ginger ale. Blech.

10/20/08 Ran 5/1 intervals x 4, for 23 minutes of running. 'Bout 11 minute/mile pace. Running a 5K this weekend for the LA Cancer Challenge. Woefully unprepared. Ran 30:29 last year, was hoping to break 30 this year, but doesn't seem likely given my anemic training schedule. Oh well. It's all about...

L4D3 -- 6:04

Oh, snap! Thought I was gonna make it - big surprise when I checked chrono with two sets of 10 squats left at 5:30. The pullups were just brutal after 15.

Back to L1D1 for a rest week next week, then on with the L4 summit.

Ugh, Fran. I used to do the BrandX-scaled WODs for Crossfit, probably go back to those again at some point. Now I'm just hoping to crack 5 minutes on L4D3.

Faster? Like, use the momentum from the squats to kick the weights up from the shoulders? These are kind of new to me...

L4D2: Untimed, ran around 20 minutes.

Feet elevated pushups, subbed squat thrusts w/10# wts for squats.

Squat thrusts added a whole new layer of ugly to the workout, even at light weights. Shoulders are cooked.

Ran 8 minutes, walked 5 minutes, ran 8 more, while listening to the debates. Should have listened to The Who instead.

Over whatever little bug was rocketing through my system. As a reward/punishment for getting through, I jumped up to L4 tonight, see how that flies this week. So: L4D1: 19 rounds Took it ever so slightly easy on myself - could have pushed harder, but didn't want to take chances on a resurgence of Th...

L3D1: 20 rounds in 17 minutes.

Hit 20 rounds, and just totally gassed out. Been feeling a little under the weather the past few days, must be it. Oh well.
