Week 12: Active Rest I again just cut everything in half. So D1 = 10min, D2 = 5 rounds (3 Body row, 3 push ups 5 squats) D3 = 5 pull-up (15 bodyrows for me) 12 push-ups 12 squats. L1D1 25 sets (continuing with the 3 body rows per 1 chin-up subs) L1D2 2:12 (Alternated between slow-negs, assisted-pul...

I just had a look at the Brand X on the Crossfit site. It seems like a large forum. From what I gather you just look at the days post that should include a scaled workout and go based on your level? It's not laid out with instructions for a beginner but I figure my assumption is right. Will have to ...

I'd agree to the 1:1 from what I've seen on the Crossfit site. I'll work with that. Hopefully I can try some of the techniques they have on that site to assist my progress. My long term goal is to be able to do the Crossfit workouts but until I'm able I'll keep going with this as it seems to be work...

On the Kipping, I knew that I had read somewhere on here that the Kip was a sub so I checked through some posts. In "Fitness training" under the topic "Pullup Technique" this post came up: You can kip, though consider it a 2:1 kipping:not. Also, I burned out my nervous system doing negatives, so mix...

Thanks for the encouragement VBM. I've looked over your log a few times to get tips on "getting there" pull-up wise. I recently (last week) tried a dead hang pull-up (or rather chin/pull up as I used the Perfect Pull Up which you start in pull-up grip end in chin up grip). I can only get about 2/3 o...

Week 10 Holy Crap! I woke up today and was pretty psyched to hit the workout. Threw on some Tool to keep me motivated and pushed through the entire 20 mins with only about a 15 sec break when I hit 30. L1D1 44 sets! (continuing with the 3 body rows per 1 chin-up subs) If only I could do a bloody pu...

Hello and nice work so far! I too can't do pull-ups and have been substituting body-rows, negs and assisted pull-ups to work up to the real deal. I spent some time reading through some of the posts and decided to take the purist approach of sticking around at level 1 until I can do legit pull-ups. F...

Hey Chris, I've been trying to work up to a full pull-up for about 2 months now. As already suggested to you the slow negs I keep for D2 and do body rows for D1&3. My aim is to try and include some slow negs in D3 at some point. As for grips, I usually start with overhand grip and rotate every 10 re...

I hope so. I was watching a you tube vid on working up to pullups and the guy suggested if you can do a controlled slow neg for 8-10s then some people are strong enough to do a full one. Not me I guess! I got 12s the other day and still no pull-up. In any case I am finding it easier to control my sl...

Week 4 (active rest week) I just cut everything in half. So D1 = 10min, D2 2.5 rounds D3 = 5 pull-up (15 bodyrows for me) 11 push-ups 11 squats. Hopefully this is acceptable. L1D1: 18 sets (continuing with the 3 body rows per 1 chin-up subs) L1D2 3:45 (Alternated between slow-negs, assisted-pullups...
