Re: iamme's log

Overall this almost felt easy. Almost. That bodes well for D3! I have quite often dialled it back now and again to focus on form and has helped a lot. It mixes things up too, go hell for leather for time and reps some weeks and keep yourself in check with regards to form on others. When you know yo...

Re: cheapo's log

Do you do kipping pull ups on your D3 work outs?

I can't imaging doing that much work in 7.40, it's seems super human lol!

Then again this time last year I couldn't even do a pull up!

2/3/2011 L4-D2 Week 61 All done slower more deliberate form no doubling up this week. 4.19 4/3/2011 L4-D3 Week 61 4.55! LEVEL UP Close call but satisfied the form was good! Several points to note: - managed 10 pull ups in a row and could have probably done 2 more to failure. - I am now past mid poi...

Re: weight loss

I dont agree about dropping 500 calories less a day. That is a very blanket statement. Try using FitDay to calculate what you are currently eating. You may be surprised just how much you need to drop calorie wise to get low enough to lose weight. Try following the SimpleFit diet plan or Primal bluep...

Re: joutsidethelines log

No worries! the first un assisted pull up will be hard, but the grin will be big!

The rest come along far easier than the first!

Keep going!!

Re: Increase your metabolism

I follow a primal lifestyle, its a paleo based diet with other factors added in the forum is very active and helpful have a look here! I agree with high quality lean meats and vegetables (just makes sense in any diet). Fruits and fruit based smoothies are high in carbohydrates and are not necessaril...

Re: Neilfensteins Log

21/2/2011 L4 D1 Week 60 Set timer for 35 reps to beat the previous week. Failed lol! I had to stop at 20, I nearly puked. I ended up missing the rest of the weeks workout from illness/sore back. 28/2/2011 L4 D1 Week 61 I did 25 reps, slowed right down and focussed on technique again. I have done th...

Re: On Pullups

No Problems!! I read you post as discussion/opinion more that advice seeking. So, read my previous post as my opinion after reading a lot of the forum over the year I have been doing this. You may always find different. But, I think it is always important to remember what ever you do is better than ...

Re: On Pullups

If you can do 'real pull ups' go ahead and dont worry about lower round/times you will get better!! Log it to keep a record, I can see at least tiny progress in my log every week. I am quite passionate about this point and I know what you mean. I was the same at the beggining and in some respects no...

Re: Supplemental exercises

Not sure if I am to be considered a veteran. My opinion, I have found that it goes in cycles. I came from quite over weight, so, I generally only do SimpleFit and maybe some other brief workouts certain other days. I have tried MH Spartacus work out, kettlebells and some other home made (usually som...

Re: Wicked-Witch-West's Workout Log

Agree with both Cheapo and 3rdwoozie. I could not do a pull up for the first 3-4 months of SimpleFit. Now I am on level 4 still progressing slowly a year later. You MUST make a diary for your workouts! I have a little A5 book that I use one page for a week and every time you log each week, be it sma...

Re: 3rdwoozie's Log

I work out how many rounds I want to acheive I then calculate the 20 mins divided by the number of reps to work out time for each rep i.e. 20 reps in 20 mins = 1 minute a rep. I then use a stopwatch repeat timer to beep for each rep. Usually this forces you to rest after each round and helps you go ...
