Decided to do an ease-up week this week (after 12 really hard weeks of progressing). So I went back down to L3, D1 today. Did 51 rounds, which is a 7-round improvement over the last time I did L3 D1 a couple months ago.

I did 8, then 8, then could only do 5, then started dropping to 2-3 at a time. I quickly glanced at my stopwatch after finishing the 32 pull-ups, and it had taken me just under 2:30. I did the pushups a bit faster than I had in the past - 30 in the first set, then 10, then sets of 5 until I finished...

So, just tackled W4 L6 D3 - 5:13, a 1:07 improvement over last week.

Form was a little weak - definitely had a few pull-ups that were not quite chin-over-bar, but overall I felt pretty good about it all.

Just to be clear, that was my D2 time (total time on work rounds, 3 min between rounds), not my D3. I couldn't say what, exactly, is the hardest part of D3 for me. I think it's probably the pull-ups. I'm doing 15 in my first set, but the remaining 17 tend to be in tiny sets of 2-3. I have wondered, ...

W4 L6 D1 - 32 rounds again. Form was a bit more solid this time around, I thought. Only missed getting my chin over the bar in the 3rd pull-up rep on the last set or two; otherwise, boom!

W3 L6 D3 - 6:20. Only a six-second improvement over last week. Still, it's something :-)

W3 L6 D2 - much more focused on time today; 5 rounds in 5:30 total (over a minute off of last week's time, where I was more form-focused and not worried about my time)

Thanks! And, yes, it is hard. And I also find that I can do that one big set up front, and then have to do sets of 2-3 the rest of the way.
