Re: JoJos Workout Log

Level 6 Day 3 5:49 I was hoping for a little more, but its not bad. I worked out in the morning and I think I could really feel the difference from the time I'm used to, which is late afternoon after work. You guys probably know how it feels, sometimes even a faster time just doesnt "feel" as good ...

Re: KTG's Log

Absolutely difficult to sort out the "ideal" way to workout, theres an unbelievable amount of contradicting info out there. I dont reliably do much work outside of SF, but I do like to do occasional Tabada intervals with bands and stuff like that. I keep telling myself I want to train more pull ups ...

Re: JoJos Workout Log

Thanks KTG! Its going pretty well I think. After a few weeks of setbacks at the last level, its really nice to feel like I'm in the groove. What I love about this program is the competitive drive it gives me to come back and one-up myself each and every week. It keeps me coming back for more. I'm ha...

Re: JoJos Workout Log

Got a little behind on posting, but I'm still working out. Level 6 Day 3: 6:05 I was pretty happy with that, just over a minute to chop off there before I can move on again. I still found the 6 extra pull-ups to be the hardest, the difference in push-ups and squats was not a huge deal. I did it Sund...

Re: Browndogs Log

Tough Mudder, thats awesome! I started SF because I signed up for a Warrior Dash, but you're way more hard-core than I am cause I cant (and never want to)run that far. Mine's in May, so if you want I'll let you know how well SF prepared me for the obstacles.

Re: JoJos Workout Log

Well, its continuing to be a promising start to level 6, I was able to do it in about 5:30 not including breaks. I still only took 2 minute breaks instead of 3, I just cant sit that long. I was pretty happy with it, and I could still do all the reps. Push-ups got the hardest for me, the last 5 on th...

Re: KTG's Log

Thats a good question. I've read that Al Kavadlo (a great source for body weight workout info) doesnt believe that people outside of elite athletes need to worry about overtraining, and that its just talked about too much. I dont know though, I've had the same thoughts about doing more work, kind of...

Re: JoJos Workout Log

Thanks for the encouragement, its always appreciated. I've always been strong on a first set of pull-ups, but I always have a strangely large fall off. My second set is always way lower. After 17, I couldnt do more than 3. Level 6 day 1 I took slow and steady, so I did 22 rounds. Its not really a lo...

Re: JoJos Workout Log

Exciting news! Turns out my pullup strategy was only slowing me down. I maxed out on day 3, and I can do 17 pullups! Turns out thats fast enough that I was able to finish them and the other exercises in under 5 minutes. Thats right! LEVEL 5 DAY 3 4:51 I'm moving on! Level 6 here I come. I'm glad too...

Re: JoJos Workout Log

Thanks for the encouraging words guys. I'd just really like to get on that next level soon! Anyway, I'm a little behind on posting, but I have been keeping up with my workout. I was up about 10 seconds on day 2 and down about 10 seconds on day three. Back around to day 1 again: Level 5 Day 1: 27 Rou...

Re: JoJos Workout Log

Level 5 Day 1
24 rounds

Well, I was sick all week last week, so I dropped 1 round. I'm a little bit frustrated with this, but thats what happens when you cant work out two of the last three weeks. I will carry on! I'm still stronger than when I started.

Re: JoJos Workout Log

KTG, I like your approach on shortening the rest time based on the workout time, kind of another built in reward. I might do that when I get to level 6. I completed level 5 day 3 last Thursday, and it went pretty well. The idea I had to do pull-ups in sets of 5 in thirty second intervals worked pret...

Re: Pull ups and cool downs

Hey, thats a cool site you referenced there, hadnt seen that before. As far as the rows go, neither of the starting positions you mentioned are wrong, but starting from below horizontal and pulling to horizontal would be the more difficult variation I believe. Body weight rowing becomes easier as yo...

Re: JoJos Workout Log

I completed week 8 day 2 last night, and I felt pretty good for the first time in a few weeks. Week 8 Day 2 4:47 Now I realize that it is exactly a minute faster than last time, but I swear, its what I did! I found it helpful to really aim for a set time on each round. In my case, each round in unde...

Re: JoJos Workout Log

Comleted Week 8 D1 last night, after taking last week off, I didnt expect too much improvement. Sure enough, I stayed the same, 25 rounds in 20 minutes. My elbow is still bugging me, so the pull ups were really tough. I pretty much did 10 rounds in the first 5 minutes and exhausted myself in the pro...
