Today I started SF level 4 day 1. I'm using a DIY TRX style suspension system for pull-ups until I build up strength for a complete pull-up. I got 5 minutes into day 1, with 6 rounds, but i was gassed out, so I stopped.

At that point do I stop the workout timing and restart the timer after I recover? I feel like I would need to take a 7-10 minute break. Or do I take a break and restart when ready and just count the total rounds in 20 minutes.

Yep, you gotta count the rest time. Once you start the clock, it keeps going until it hits 20 minutes, regardless of whether you're working or recovering.

Given how challenging you found the level 4 workout, I suggest you drop down to level 1 or 2. That may feel like a come-down, but, on the plus side, you'll make quick progress.

thanks for the clarification. I think I'll try level 2 and initially attempt to slow the reps.
