I need an explanation of why SF recommends RINGS for pushups

Postby oathblivion » Wed Jun 12, 2013 9:29 pm

Hi i currently use gynastic rings at home for my pull ups but im wondering how is it different / beneficial and more intense to do so? can i also ask how does it help with push ups?
I know its supposed to train control but how does it train more muscles?

If you do a pushup using rings, your hands won't stay in place unless you use various muscles to keep them there. A lot more muscles will have to do work in order to allow you to do the pushup movement in good form while keeping your hands in the same place (as opposed to slipping away sideways).
I presume the same is true for pull ups although to a lesser degree.
