Pull Up Bar

I'm new here, like in the last 15 minutes new! Here is my first question.
I don't have a pull up bar at home and I don't have a gym membership. What can I do as an alternative to pull ups? I do have a lot of free weights (including curl and straight bar, and dumbells) I also have a Total Gym. Any suggestions with the equipment I have?

I'm not sure what you have available (do you have an unfinished basement? a garage?) so this might not help much but for a chinup bar what I did was buy a length of 1" rolled steel rod (a 5" length cost me $10CAD from a welding shop). I have a screened in porch at the back of my house with open rafters so I ran the bar across the rafters and fastened it in place.

I wish I had a link for you (I'll look for it later) but I just went to Academy and picked up a really nice pull up bar for ~$15. Its solid too. It has two brackets that mount in the door frame with 5 screws (you will need a power drill to get them in there) and then the bar slides in. But just run by Academy and see what they have.
