A good wikipedia page explaining the different kinds of pullups along with animated clips demonstrating. Is there anything wikipedia doesn't cover?

The link doesn't seem to want to post properly so just cut and paste into your browser.

Thank you!

Turns out I've been doing 'chin-ups' thinking they were pull-ups. Back to square one. Bugger.

At least I know that I'm going to do the correct movement this time.

Hi DG,

I don't think it's a big problem that you were doing chins at first. You still get some back involved, especially if you pull high and lean back slightly so that it's like a row. There was another post in this forum that also suggested alternating pullups and chins, either between sets or between workouts.

Yeah, it is good to alternate. The more variety the better.

That's good. I tried the new movement - jeouw. It's like a whole different group of muscles got involved. All good.

Since I can't do a pull-up yet, I rotate chin-up/pull-up (jump and lower slowly) to work more muscles in my arms. I hope that's a good idea.
