Hey, for those of you who like to run around your neighborhood or local park, there is a website you can use to plan your next run or measure your last run. uses the Google Maps engine and has added the functionality to place points on the map, and keeps a running measure of distance between the points. You can view with the streets or aerial photography, which works great for locating trails or shortcuts. It will measure both in miles and kilometers and can calculate a round trip distance as well. I use this all the time for planning runs when I want to do a specific distance, starting at my house, for example.

I've used GMaps Pedometer and find it useful. I found this sight advertised on GMaps Pedometer this morning.

Kind of a place to upload and share favorites running/cycling/etc. routes.

Hey yeah that's a good one too for after you've figured out the route and want to save it or share with others. I'll definitely use both sites.
thanks for finding that!

Hey Taifun, not to get into the technical details too much, but Google Maps uses a map projection that is slightly more distorted the farther north or south you are. That may account for some of the inaccuracy, depending on where in Norway you are.
