My sense of you is that you are a very well intended gentleman, with a strong altruistic drive, which led you to initiating and maintaining simplefit.org. I admire, respect, thank and commend you for all that.
I don't know whether or not you have read the available research on the product I recommended. Yes, with respect to eating fresh, whole produce the company, in describing it's product, does use the phrase, "the next best thing". However, some of the studies and testing, IMO, make a statement like, "that will not come close to the real deal," untrue. If the author of such a statement has not reviewed the available studies and testing it is, at the very least, unfair.

Many of the concepts contained in the approaches to wellness mentioned, were not "mainstream" years ago, and to a some extent, are still battling for broader acceptance in the "marketplace of ideas". Yet, those concepts are acknowledged, if not embraced by the SimpleFit community and others.
Before dismissing something after a mere cursory review, I would hope that folks "empty their cup" to new ideas that may have validity and value beyond what the knee jerk response is open to receive. (BTW, I have no idea Kevin, if you are in that cursory review/knee jerk group. Perhaps you have poured over the research and testing and have a better grasp of the science than I do. If that is the case, then you are certainly entitled to your well informed opinion and I respect you for voicing it.)
Thanks for reading.
All the best,
