I thought this was kind of interesting. My family has never been able to come to terms with dieting or fitness together. Interestingly the fact that my son leaves for college in one month and he has to take a fitness test for ROTC has started to bring that together.
We all eat a very similar zone type diet with a small palm sized portion of meat, 2 servings of vegetables, and plenty of water.
Two snacks a day are the equivalent of a handful of almonds and a piece of fruit.
infrequently we do a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and some type of fruit. It has been tough initially as everyone is hungry, but this is the first time we have removed the junk out of the house and working out has taken on a new life. It's slowly branching out to everyone.
Hope this is a sign of good things to come. Sure is easier to stick to the foods you need when your not surrounded by the bad stuff heh.
