When to move up or down levels.

I know the site says to move up when you are completing level 3 in under 5 minutes, and to move down if a level takes more than 30 min - but there is a awful lot of time b/w 5 and 30 min!
I started of at Level 2, finishing Round 2 and 3 in 20 minutes (using jumping pullups), slowly moving to all real pullups after 2 months or so.. than moved up to Level 3, and now Level 4 once I could do day 3 in about 10-12 minutes.
So my question is, should I stick with a level until I can do day 3 in 5 minutes, or is 10 minutes ok?
5 min seems awful fast to me!

Work on getting your D3 time under 5 minutes.
That's what the program is built around. And yes, it is achievable, at least until you get up to level 7 or so. I think level D3L7 in less than 5 minutes is achievable too...much the same as running a marathon or winning 8 Olympic gold medals is achievable, which is to say, achievable for some!

So I figure I should drop back to Level 2 first, get that down to 5 minutes than start working back up the level ladder.
Once you get the workout down to 5 mins, do you do anything else after? I mean, after the 5 min simplefit workout would u recommend further exercise right after, or is that 5 min enough?

That's a big discussion!
For me, SF is about getting a workout into my life where there would otherwise be no workout. More might be good, but, for now I am happy with just SF.
Which is a long way of saying I don't have any real advice.
If I were to add anything to my D3, it would be more warming up and some warming down. I do a brief warm up and no warm down (usually I sit down and puff for a good long while). I think a good warm-up would improve my times. As for the warm down, collapsing in a heap doesn't seem like the right thing to be doing!

When I started Simplefit some months ago, even Level 1 Days 2 and 3 would take close to 20 minutes - more in a ways, as I was doing jumping pullups.
As I improved, it was still strenuous enough the first 2-3 months that I never even thought about any further exercise - to tell the truth, further exercise wasn't even possible!
Now I'm up to Level 4, with 6-8 minute times for Days 2 and 3, and hopefully will move to 5 next month - but especially after day 2, have enough energy to do more.
Still haven't decided what other stuff to do though afterwards..

I can't do ten pull-ups yet for L1D3, but L1D2 seems easy. Should I move to level two or keep plugging away until I can do ten pull-ups without jumping.

It's really up to you. Are you happy with your Level 1 performance? If so, no one is going to call you out for moving up a level. Maybe you can transition to Level 2 by doing L2D2 in place of L1D2 until your L1D3 gets better. Or, do L1D2 with extra weight (heavy sweatshirt, backpack stuffed with clothes or books, etc.). The beauty of simplefit is that it's easy to customize.

You don't have to do all 10 in a row without stopping. You can do 5 then 5 or 2 x 5...
L1D1 has a built in self-scale (all the D1s do.) So if you don't go to L1D2 then your rounds will increase and thus the work will increase.
Splint is right tho' - we aren't the police. I am a purist when it comes to the level-up issue.
