body weight exercises

I began the exercises today with level 4, day 1, doing nine rounds in 20 minutes. When I compared my log to others, I see that they are doing substantially more rounds. Does this mean I began on too high of a level and should drop down?

hi driskell and welcome to SF - i trust you'll enjoy the program and all the banter in the forum!!!

yes, i think you are starting a lvl or two too high. ideally you should be able to do in the region of 20 rounds in 20 mins, i.e. 1 round/min. although that is just a guideline, 9 rounds are way to few.

before you continue with D2, first determine on which lvl you should start. for your next WOD, do L2D1 and see how many rounds you can accomplish.

Stick with it. I did and it paid off. The first few weeks you will be finding the right pace and timing. Consistency is the key to progress with this program.

Thanks a lot for the encouragement and advice. I was finally un-sore enough today to try L2D1 and it went much better as I completed 22 rounds. I'm looking forward to continuing!

L2D2 today.

The 5 rounds took me 10 min. 33 sec. Afterward I realized that I didn't take the 3 minute rests between rounds and the time above includes the rest I did take. I should've read the detailed explanation earlier!

That said, it was tough but in a good way and I'm looking forward to day 3!
