Woke up this AM feeling like I had flu-like symptoms so I spent most of the day in bed. No workout today but will do it tomorrow.

Week Three
Back at it today after not feeling very well yesterday.

Level 2 Day one
24 rounds
The first 16 rounds were done with a proper pull up and the last 8 rounds were done with 3 for 1 assisted pull ups.
Had some improvement on the total number of pull ups which is great.

How did you decide to move to L2?

I did level 1 day 3 in under five minutes. Here is the information on the workout days in case you did not see it on the simplefit web site.
EXPLANATION OF WORKOUTS

Level 1 workouts used as an example
Day 1 (endurance) - "as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes:"
1 pull-up
2 push-ups
3 squat

Do 1 pull-up, then 2 push-ups, then 3 squats; that is 1 round. Complete as many rounds a possible in 20 minutes.

Day 2 (strength) - "5 rounds for time:"
2 pull-ups
6 push-ups
10 squats

Do 2 pull-ups, then 6 push-ups, and finally 10 squats to complete one round. See how quickly you can complete each of the 5 rounds, resting approximately 3 minutes between each round. Do not count the rest time in your total time.

Day 3 (judgement) - "for time:"
10 pull-ups
21 push-ups
21 squats

Do 10 pull-ups, then 21 push-ups, then 21 squats as quickly as you can counting any rest time taken. Stay 1-2 repititions below failure, and do not train to failure.

Week Three
I wanted to get back to a M,W,F schedule so I did day 2 today even though I did day 1 yesterday.

Level 2 Day 2
:50
:47
:46
:47
:49

Made all my pull ups although the third one in the fifth round went up sloowwwllly. My elbows are really creaking and cracking while I do the push ups, pitfalls of middle age I guess.
On a positive note my belly is shrinking, it touches the ground just slightly before my nose does while doing push ups.

I forgot to add my farmers walk to today's workout.

Your nose touches the ground during push ups? You go that low?

Various places online say nose, chin, or chest should touch so going low is very important.

Week Three
That was a tough one, managed to get all my pull ups-barely-and I found the push ups are starting to get tougher.
Level 2 Day 3
Pull ups
4,4,2,2,1
Push ups
10,5,5,3,2,1
Squats
26
Time-7:00 minutes

Next week I will re-do level two and see if I can improve my performance and cut my rest times. The following week I will drop down to level one for one week for a break.

This is awesome! Unassisted pull-ups are a nightmare. You've got some serious back strength to be doing what you're doing.

Thanks 230.

Week Four

Level 2 Day 1
25 rounds
The first 24 rounds were done with proper pull ups and the 25th round I did a chin up. I felt I couldn't get another pull up so I thought I would try a chin up and I made it!
I decided to take some time between each round to recover right from the start rather than do as many as possible until I got to tired to continue and have to switch to assisted pull ups. It seemed to work for me so I'll continue to use this on all my day 1's from now on.
Forgot to add my farmers walk with my 32kg kettlebell. 100 paces then switch hands and back to starting point.

Great job! Getting through 24 rounds with pull-ups is very impressive. I've switched to all pull-ups for days 2 and 3, but day 1 is still alternating with chin-ups. Once you get past using any assisted pull-ups/chin-ups you are really on your way!

Week Four
Level 2 Day 2
:47
:46

:48
Time-3:54
It's been a tough couple of days, my wife's health is declining and I am extremely stressed and did not want to work out today. I forced myself to and I actually feel it was beneficial, took my mind off of things. I'll have to remember this feeling the next time I feel like skipping a work out.

Week five
Level 1 day 1
28 rounds
This is supposed to be my "rest" week so I dropped town to do level one and I have to admit it was pretty tough. I did all pull ups but quality was not as good as it could have been. I just finished my night shifts for the week and I suspect the 4 hours of sleep this morning were partly to blame for my lack of energy.
Another day in the books and by Wednesday I should be well rested and have no excuses!

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's health problems. I really hope it's nothing serious and that she returns quickly to her regular health. That's a rough situation to be in. If you can concentrate on your workouts in such a stressful place... you're an absolute machine. That kind of focus is what toughness is all about. And it probably did you well to force your mind onto something else for awhile.

Best wishes to you all.
