I just found this sight last week. This is the beginning of my second week.
I haven't exercised in about 1 year. I can do full pull-ups for 10 minutes ut then that's it. My goal is to make it the full 20 doing full pull-ups.

Hi and welcome!

Great start! You won't be at L1 for long. On the D1 you can always drop down to body rows once you've exhausted the pullups. That'll get you the full 20 min workout. Try taking a 30s or so rest now and again as well - might get you 30 rounds in the 20 min even if you don't do as many rounds in 10.

You might also try using an interval/countdown timer.

Your last D1 was 23 rounds. Suppose you want to beat that by 1. Set your timer to countdown 20 minutes / 24 = 50 seconds. Do a set every 50 seconds.

I switch back and forth between using an interval timer and just doing it by feel. I sometimes think I get more sets by going all out for as long as possible and then slowing down when I have to, than I can get by trying to follow an even interval. But I got my PR on L4 using the timer.

Just remember, you're only going to work this hard for 20 minutes, so go all out. You can chill when you're done.

VBM, Thank you for the encouragement! I was thinking the same thing. I look forward to the exercises so it's hard to hold back.

Cheapo, Timer's not a bad idea. I pulled out an old egg timer today but it was out of batteries so I had to settle on the minute and seconds hands on my watch.

Thanks for the encouragement, URUP. I still have a ways to go yet. My goal is to do the whole workout with true full pullups. I think it will come but still a little bit to go. I'm doing maybe 60% full pullups and then 30% subbing.

For my subs, I'm putting an exercise ball under my feet. I them pullup as far as I get and help the last little bit untill my chin is over the bar. So 60% of my pullups are true and then 30% using the ball when I can't quite pull myself chin over.

But fitness is a journey not a destination so I just got to be patient.

I wasn't sure what to do for an easy week so I did the exercises but just not with the usual sense of urgency.
