Week 27

OK, so as expected I got my ass kicked by level three already. At least I saw it coming I guess. D1 I felt good about until about round 8. Then I struggled through to round 11 without going to subs for the chin-ups. At the point that the subs started I knew for sure I'd be posting a pretty low number of rounds. Amazing the difference in 3 vs 6 body rows in terms of burning out your arms! Day 2 was not as bad as I thought it would be. Thank God for simple pleasures!

Just a quick question. Is there anything wrong with doing the chin-ups in singles? I think the answer is no but I thought I'd throw it out there in case you're not supposed to. I'd like to do multiples but want to give my elbows a chance to survive, so I've been doing singles in neutral grip which has allowed me to keep doing chin-ups and still be able to use my arms.

L3D1
24 sets (11 sets no subs the rest 3 body rows subs)

L3D2
4:21 (no subs, chin-ups in singles)

L3D3
6:05 (no subs, chin-ups in singles) Certainly felt those extra chin-ups and pushups!

Week 28: Active Rest (L1)

L1D1
41 sets (no subs!!!)
That was surprising as all hell. I thought for sure I'd be subbing at some point but I made it through the whole thing!

L1D2
2:57 (no subs)

L1D3
2:36 (no subs)

Hey thanks guys! Definitely felt great! Almost like I'm making progress
On the subject of who owns who:  Level three is still owning me but I'm feeling better about it every day. As for level 1 Ruli, if you look at my posts you'll see that I was level 1's B@#$! for many, many months

I've no doubt you will Ruli! You can already do pull-ups so I figure you're months ahead of my pace. Like VBM, I started waaaay below level 1. I'm only on Level 3 so that's no great progress but it is something. The best part really is I 'feel' better so keep at 'er!

As for this week:

Week 29

L3D1
25 sets (18 sets no subs the rest 3 body rows subs)

L3D2
4:37 (no subs, chin-ups in singles)

L3D3
5:48 (no subs, chin-ups in singles) A small improvement from the last attempt. Was hoping for more but at least it didn't get worse.

Week 30

L3D1
26 sets (14 sets no subs[down from last week] the rest 3 body rows subs)

L3D2
4:33 (no subs, chin-ups in 2-1 sets)

L3D3
5:28

D3 was poor form on the chin-ups so that number realistically should be + 30s so closer to 6 mins. Also didn't help that the bosses dog felt the need to try and lick and scratch my face while doing push-ups and I had to stop to get him out of the gym!! :x Lost time and rhythm there. To be clear, I Love dogs! Owners who don't feel the need to give direction to their dogs however?! Anyway will keep at it. L3 is going to take a while.

Week 31

L3D1
26 sets (no subs, chin-ups in singles)

L3D2
5:31 (no subs, chin-ups in 2-1 sets)
A lot slower than last week but form was better

L3D3
5:16 (no subs)

12s faster than last week and the form was a lot better than last week as well so that's a little progress. This was the first time I felt like I had a chance of beating the 5 min mark. Perhaps in the next month, month and a half? Next week is week 32 and that means that I've earned an inactive rest week!! Woohooo!! I think my body is going to appreciate this. I know my elbows and shoulders certainly will. Perhaps I'll continue jogging through this week so I'm still doing something? We'll see.

Thanks Prometheus! Just enjoying my week off and trying to stick to it being a week off. Harder than it seems. Can't wait to get back at it. Hopefully I won't loose too much by next week!

just think of it this way, you're only making progress when you're taking rest; being too active when your body needs rest is counter-productive and harming your gains. Hopefully that mindset makes it easier!
