I am still sweating from my workout and *boom* I get the coach's reaction :D
Try making the rest between each mini set longer, up to 3 min. Do not go to failure stay way under.
I need to keep this in mind. I think I go too far sometimes...

I am doing a mixed grip, one up one down, rotating after each pause.
How many reps do you do at a time?

You know what ? I read that, asked my own personal coach for support and managed to do ten real pullups ( palms down) in a row. I actually amazed myself here :D
I am not saying it was easy :P
