My second worst D2 time up to this point but the focus of my D2's are form and strength anyway. No cheating on any of the pullups, strict form on all exercises. I was able to do the whole workout without dropping down to the floor between pullup reps. Obviously, gassed at the 4th and 5th rounds. This time though I gassed on the pushups. The pullups were slightly harder on rounds 4 and 5 but I could do them without cheating and not at failure. I went to failure a couple of times with the pushups. I guess this means that simplefit has uncovered a weakness. Incidentally, I found out a few days ago that I couldn't do sets of 80lb bench presses. We'll see how this goes in a few more weeks.

Pushups (with perfect pushups): 14, 6, 6, 3, 3, 1
Squats: 26, 7

50 second plank and PST work after.

Some things of note during today's workout:
* 8 consecutive pullups. PR +2. Never to failure. Finished the pullups in about 1:30. Better than I expected.
* I hit a wall with the pushups. Had to rest about 30 seconds between splits. I am encouraged by this because I feel that so far the development of my pulls (and as a result my back) has outpaced everything else.
* Pushup groups of 3 were to failure.
* I'm not sure if the pushups are harder with the perfect pushup apparatus (they probably are because of the increased depth). I struggle with increasing the reps but it feels easier to keep good form with them.
* First time I had to split squats up.

Overall I did a little worse than I expected. I did better with the pullups but a lot worse on the pushups than I expected. It looks like I'll need couple of weeks at this level but I expected as much.

Pullups: 5, 5, 3, 1 -> 14
Chinups: 2, 1, 1, 1 -> 5

Half of my normal PST work and a 50 second plank after.

Form on pullups started to break at round 12. Oddly enough my muscles didn't feel like they were worn out, I just couldn't pull myself up anymore. Could be mental. No problems with pushups and squats.

PST work + 50 second plank after.

Severely gassed at the 5th pushup of the last set. At this point I could only do one and it was to failure. Switched to pushups on the knees and did 2 of those for the last 1 pushup. All pullups were strict deadhang and only got a bit testy at the last set. No problem with squats.

It's official. I am addicted. I was thinking about this workout yesterday and got up excited to workout. :D

Strict form on all reps. Pushups still hard after the first 16. Over 4 minutes of the workout spent on them. I probably need to get smarter with the breaks between 'sets' (maybe rest for a whole minute after the first 16 then go for another 12 or so).

Progress still looking linear but I was hoping to improve on my PR for pullups in a row (currently at eight). I still got to eight though so maybe next time. Still very happy with my progress. People have been noticing the changes in my physique this week. :)

This was supposed to be yesterday's workout but I was recovering from a stomach flu and was quite dehydrated so I skipped it yesterday. Doing the endurance day while recovering from dehydration is probably not a good idea :). I didn't feel weak from a strength point of view but my endurance was definitely affected. I wanted to do 20-25 but had to settle for 19 and at least tie my PR. Need to rest well today as it is on to day 2 tomorrow.

Improvement in both time and strength today. Strict form on all reps and all sets. Was close to failure on the very last pushup of set number 5 but was able to pull it out. From here on I will do my PST work on off days so that I can focus on them as well. I was really gassed after this workout but maybe that was due to the lack of a rest day between workouts.

Personal best of 10 pullups in a row not to failure. Push ups are still a weak spot, I did 18 in a row (best on record for me so far) but was severely gassed after that. Oddly ennough my records show that I did 36 pushups (3 more than required) oh well.

I am happy with my progress as it has continued to be linear so far. I obviously need to work on my pushups. I'll work on adding 1 or 2 more consecutive reps to my PR every week or so.

PST work

Looks like I'm getting better at this. I was going for 25 but slowed down considerably at around the 13th set. The first 10 were almost easy. Hopefully, I levelup this week or next. Progress still looking linear and I am catching my breath in less time after these workouts.

Back to doing PST work after simplefit as moving them to non-workout days did not work out (I wasn't doing them). :)

I also benched 80 lbs relatively easy yesterday. I could probably have pushed to around 100 lb but I wasn't in the gym to workout yesterday. I was just there to spot for my brother-in-law.

Video taped my pullups and found that I wasn't doing dead hangs. I was only going about 70% down. I started working on that in sets 2-5. This is slightly disappointing but at least it's something to work on.

The workout seemed easier this time than in the past weeks. I did not go to failure on any excercise (including pushups). I wasn't that winded after this workout so I added couple of short chinup sets. In hindsight maybe I should have done extra pushups instead. Or maybe even an extra round. Hoping to level up this week.

Slight kip on the last pullup of sets of 3. Last 3 pushup "sets" (3,2,1) where to failure. I pushed hard on the squats to get the time. Take it easy week next week (L1) then on to L4.

1:01 PR last week followed by a 1:20 PR this week? great progress! thats a huge amount of improvement, not an easy thing to do. a well deserved easy week

Thanks polarbear. Consistency + determination to keep improving and it's actually not that hard. :) Maybe when I get to the level that you're at it will be a different story. We'll see. :)
