Week 2
L1D3 / 2012-01-13

Warmup: Light skipping and arm circles.

I completed 1 clean pull-up, the rest were assisted using a chair at a 3:1 ratio. Did all the pushups and squats, though I felt the pushups on 20 and 21, first time I felt a burn from them.

Total time: 3:33

This is 14 seconds off my previous L1D3 time, so I am happy with that.

Very nice sir! I had to do my day early yesterday so I didn't get to check for your log but nice improvement! It's good to feel the burn. That means it's working :P

I drank too much yesterday to do L1D1, so I will be doing it today. Which will make it back to back with my C25K run. And I still plan on doing L1D2 tomorrow. Should be interesting to see how that impacts my results.

Wanted to update my C25K results. On Thursday I did another 2 miles, with a 9:51 pace. Then Saturday morning I did 2.5 miles with a 10:20 pace. So I added a whole half mile but only added 30 seconds to my time. Pretty pleased with that.

I am about to set off for a run right now and later tonight I am going to do the L1D1. I imagine my total will be much lower, since I am doing it the same day I am doing a run.

Week 3
L1D1 / 2012-01-17

I did my C25K today. I ran 2.75 miles with a 9:30 min/mi pace. Pretty happy with that result.

I managed to squeak out 36 rounds on L1D1 today. Improvement of 2 over last week, but not bad considering I took a run before doing the workout. The first 9 pull-ups I did were clean, no assistance. That is a good sign and I think I will be able to do the 10 pull-ups for Level 1 Day 3 in the next couple weeks. I refuse to go to Level 2 until I can do 10 pull-ups.

Today is also a weigh in day. Weight was 291 lbs. That is 2 lbs less than when I started. My tone and general fitness is WAY up! I feel better and I am making better choices about food (mostly). Once I drop to 275 I will move to weighing myself once a month as I reach for my target of 245. I've also decided that when I hit 245 I am going to pick two new suits for myself to celebrate :)

I got L1D2 tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Congrats on the improvement! Tomorrow's going to be fun coming off a big workout day like that! Missed seeing your results yesterday but glad you got the day in today. Look forward to seeing the results tomorrow.

Week 3
L1D2 / 2012-01-18

I did the 5 rounds in 3:46. Almost a minute improvement over last week. A lot of that has to do with the running I've been doing. I am not gassing as soon as I was before. Now with the faster pace I am starting to hit some more muscle fatigue which feels great.

I have a early morning run tomorrow at 7:30AM, want to see how running in the morning compares to running in the evening. I will post how I far.

Great work on the minute improvement! I hope the run went well...I just can't pull my ass out of bed early enough to work out in the morning. I wish I could.

Fantastic going, really impressed with the improvements. I hope I start seeing similar results soon but even though I'm 100lbs lighter than you I think I have the strength of a small child and therefore have some catching up to do.

Great job! I'm glad to hear the running is helping. The running and simplefit is a great combination.

Week 3
L1D3 / 2012-01-22

I felt great this morning after taking an extra day off. I was a little sore from running, simplefit, and then spending 10 hours in a car the next day. So I made a judgement call to take Friday and Saturday off.

I managed to finish L1D3 in 2:17. I did the first 6 pull-ups with no assistance! 4 traditional pull-ups, 2 chin-ups .. then I kipped for 2 more, and used assistance on the last 2. Feel really good about those results at his weight.

I have a run later today that I am looking forward to and thanks to everyone for all the encouragement.

Nice work!

With all of that extra time for L1D3 I wonder if you could have put in a little more rest time and done the last two pull-ups without the assistance and still have made it under 5 minutes?

This is what I was thinking. You have a lot of time to work with there! Nice improvements!

Oh is the goal to just do it in under 5 minutes without assistance? I guess that's good to know, I just really want to do 10 pull-ups in a row before moving on. We will see how today goes :)
