Day 1: 23 rounds

Increased last week's rounds by 1. Not much to add to that...just trying to decrease my rest time between sets.

Day 2

Round 1: 1:04 (11 seconds faster than last week)
Round 2: 1:05 (3 seconds faster than last week)
Round 3: 1:03 (5 seconds faster than last week)
Round 4: 1:04 (6 seconds faster than last week)
Round 5: 1:11 (7 seconds slower than last week)

Total time: 5:27 (18 second improvement over last week)

Felt good up until round 5. The final round, I needed to take a little pause halfway through the push-ups and halfway through the squats. Nothing major, but
added a few seconds to the overall time.

L6D2 just really killed me this week, so I am particularly in awe of those L7D2 round times. It's always surprising how quickly the seconds pile up when you even stop to take a few extra breaths.

Day 3: 8:58 -> beat last week's time by 4 seconds

Pull-ups: 8, 8, 8, 8, 8
Push-ups: 20, 20, 20, 20
Squats: 40, 40

Finished up this week 4 seconds faster than last week...not a big jump, but at least I'm going in the right direction. Most importantly, I was able to even out my sets a bit instead of burning out by doing a bunch of reps up front and then doing a bunch of 1-2 reps to get to my final count. Technically, the last two sets of pull-ups had a quick (1 to 2 second) break after four pull-ups...I figured that wasn't long enough to count as two sets of 4 and seeing four sets of 8 makes me feel better :)

I like the way you keep driving your intensity into this program. You get that gaining an inch is indeed a milestone. Keep it up.

Even though you didn't get under 5 minutes, I nominate you for prettiest day 3, since you did everything in even sets.

Thanks guys!

I'm finding this level so unbelievably hard, that I'm perfectly happy with an improvement of a second or two on any given day. Small steps, but at least going in the right direction.

Ha! I'm not sure if doing five sets of 8 is any more beneficial, from a workload point of view, than doing a set of 10 and then 15 sets of 2, but it makes me feel cooler :)

Day 1: 24 rounds

Starting up on my fourth week at level 7. I managed to get 24 rounds in, which was one more than last week. I'm not sure how I managed that...today I just felt sluggish during the entire workout. It seemed to take longer than usual to get into the groove and I also seemed to start feeling fatigued earlier than usual. Despite that, though, I managed to eek out another tiny improvement.

Great work! I too am impressed with those even sets on D3. Beyond the aesthetics and discipline of it, I'm also not sure it imparts any real workout benefit over ragged sets (indeed getting closer to failure might be better). I do think it is important to get away from the sets of 1-2 reps. And there is a place for art in this world.

Overall, this week felt good. I beat last week's Day 3 by a whopping 2 seconds :) Next week, I really need to focus on keeping a regular workout schedule. I tend to let too many days go between each workout and it always seems more difficult than it should be to get motivated. I think that by keeping a fairly strict every-other-day workout schedule, I can keep my momentum up.

Another great performance. That sub 1min L7D2 round is particularly impressive! The motivation piece is everything. I've made this a pretty strong habit, but it can still be surprisingly hard to actually make my finger push the timer button and get started.

Day 1

20 rounds in 19:48 (4 rounds less than last time)

So, it looks like it's been about 16 days since my last SF workout. A big part of that was a strange schedule during a one week stretch, but a bigger part was me always conveniently finding a reason that it would make much more sense to skip a workout and do it the next day instead (which, of course wouldn't happen either). Anyhow, I knew my performance today would be less than stellar, but I needed to get back on the horse.

I've still been pretty active over the past two weeks, but I *really* felt my lack of pull-ups and push-ups today. It'll take a while to get back up to speed.

I took a break recently too. I spent the second week working on some "fun" stuff. Coming back to D1 is a brutal reminder of what you've been missing.

Exactly. It's amazing how quickly things start to deteriorate if you miss a few days. It all seems to be about consistency.
