welcome
fat or not, I'm 10 years younger than you and my L1D1 was 17 rounds, too
so I can't say whether you did well or I did it awful

Thx ricoman...this is a lot harder than it seems at first and I'm doing chinups not pullups!

I think you're doing great so far! Some people don't even make it through the whole 20 minutes on the first go. Good luck with D3!

Thanks maddog, your logs are inspirational. D3 when I get back from work....actually looking forward to it!

Edit:
L1D3: 5.09...so near!...pushups are the problem but i'm quite pleased really, was expecting a lot more. Next week will be re-doing Lv1 but with alternate chins/pulls.

Welcome onboard. That is a great start! You'll be on to level two in no time. The bad news is that it never gets any easier--the clock and the higher levels are always pushing you on. But, you get to the point were, like Maddog, you are doing 87 pull-ups in one 20 minute session and you know you have really accomplished something.

thx KTG...this community is sound and its really encouraging...

Wk 2 Lv1D1 28 +11 from last week (parallel grip pulls)

I'm in no condition to compare but are chins easier than parallel grip pullups (palms facing) or the other way round? (I know pullups are the hardest)

I find chin-ups a lot easier than neutral grip pull-ups. But that must have something to do with my bar because it has a wide grip for neutrals and when I do chin-ups I have a narrower one. In the same way if I do pull-ups the grip is the widest one.

Anyway, I'm doing neutral grip because I've read somewhere that they're easier with the shoulders. I'll try different grips as I get stronger... I have weak shoulders

gonna stick with neutrals then for now...they seem more "stronger" "solid" somehow.

Wk2 Lv1D2: (48,43,38,39.5,39) 3' 46" (-26secs) PR
