This is my eleventh week working out with Simplefit , so I thought I should post something.

Background

I am a 74 year old male, with two exceptions in good health. Exceptions COPD, smoked for 45 years, and MS , which is only a problem during a relapse,

I have been working out fairly regularly for 10 years. Main problem is no wind.

I am 5' 8" tall, weigh about 168 pounds, down from 194 a year ago, an plan to lose about 13 more pounds.

Comments * repeated Level three because as I was not happy with my form.
** repeated level four as I had to rest during push ups on day three.
Thought if I can't do 41 I sure won't do 51 next week.

I wish I could say all Pull-ups are dead hang but after 12 or 13 there is a lot of kipping. Form on Push ups are ok,
I am sure I cheat a little on range of motion to increase speed.

This was to be in tab form but it's readable. Sorry about that

Week TWELVE
Rest Week

Level Four

Day One: 27 Rounds
Day Two: 4:22
Day Three 2:02

Advantage of the rest weeks is it allows comparing with the the program in the past. 5 weeks ago my numbers were Day One 22 Rounds, Day Two 5:29 and Day Three 3:16 so I am improving.

UNDER FIVE MINUTES BUT THE IMPROVEMENT IN TIME WAS UNFORTUNATELY ACHIEVED WITH A GREAT REDUCTION IN FORM.

While I will try, I think that is the last level that I will be able to complete in under Five minutes

When I can complete Level Seven with only taking a short blow after completing the pull ups and push ups, and providing my form is fairly good, I will consider going to the Eight level.

With my COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) I will have to take the breaks. I will be very happy when I can do the Pull-ups without stopping, the Push-ups without stopping and the Squats without stopping. I am sure it will take a month or so.
I had to take a break after twenty-eight Pull-ups and Forty-Eight and Fifty-Six Push-ups today.

Still for an Old Man I am quite pleased with the effort to date.after

Day 2 9:01 (Lot of gasping for breath)

Day 3 7:47 ( had to stop three times for breath during pull ups, same in push ups and twice during squats)


Lots of room for improvement in time and form. I tried Hindu Squats this week which should go faster in time.

Next week is REST WEEK and look forward to it. Think I will try level Five again and see if I am improving or going downhill.

Long time since last post
Had a relapse with my MS Went from max of 40+ pull ups to 15 to 3 in a two week period so took some time off.

Found the new Android app. I like it. wish you could edit your mistakes and be able to transfer data to the web.

Still Thanks a lot to the responsible person(s). Good Job

First week back to program

Level Six

Day One: 17 rounds

Day two: 5 min 23 sec

Day Three: 7 min 44 sec

Had to rest during pull ups twice, push ups twice, squats once

Considering my advance age and it is first time back I guess I will post it :)

Level 6

Day One 20 rounds

Day Two Time 5:51

Day Three Time 6:21

Long way to go. Had to rest on pull ups,twice; Push ups, three times; and Squats, Three times. Took over a minute off the final time, so I am improving.

What a nutty world we live in.

Wishing for better days.

Still Plugging Along

Level SIX

Day 1: 22 Rounds

Day 2: 5:32

Day 3: 4:57 Pull Ups 15, 10, 7
Push Ups 30. 16, 16, 8, 4
Squats 64

I am planning to stay at level SIX until I can do 32 Pull Ups, 64 Push ups and 64 Squats with out resting during the exercise. You can not do forty if you can not do 32 etc.Next week I hope to do the pull ups with only one break. I was disappoint with my push ups.
I should not have need four rests.

Weather has changed and doing a lot of out door walking. Wonderful!!
