Fipskaeg's log (Level 1 and onwards)

Postby Fipskaeg » Sun Mar 03, 2013 12:18 am

English is not my first language so please bear with me :!:

Hi everybody

I thought keeping this log might help me stay on track, so here we go:

Background:
Male
38 years old
78 kilos / 172 pounds
184 cm / 6.04

A year ago I started P90X. I did 60 days and then had to quit due to a lung infection. But in those 60 days I did managed to lose 9 kilos/ 20 pounds, improve strength and gain some muscle. Over the next months I gained a few pounds but generally watched my (conventional) diet.

Then in October I switched to a paleo diet, and since then I have lost 4 kilos / 9 pounds. So my weight is where I want it and I feel great, sleep very well and enjoy not having to eat all the time to keep my blood sugar up. However, I miss exercising, so I was thrilled when I stumpled upon a reference to SimpleFit on Marks Daily Apple.

My goal is to gain some muscle, get better definition and to improve my general health.

Will be back soon!

EDIT:
Started at level 1 and completed 42 rounds maintaining good form all the way. Never thought pushups would turn out to be my weak point. Looking forward to D2.

L1D2:
Each round just around 35 seconds.

L1D3:
Just under 3 minutes.

I guess I could have started a couple of levels higher. But I was actually pretty sore after D1, since I haven't worked out in a while. So I guess I will just enjoy these easy workouts while it lasts and allow my body to adjust over the next couple of weeks. Feels good to finally be doing "something".

L2D1:
Paced myself and did 34 rounds with just a couple of very short breaks. Probably should have pushed a little harder.

L2D2: Averaged 50 seconds.

L2D3: Completed in 3 minutes.

Very nice! That's a terrific start! I think you'll start to feel it on L4 or L5.

Thanks, KTG. Feeling it already

Just did L3D1, and doing 2 chin-ups/pull-ups (I mix them) instead of 1 makes a huge differnce. On L2 is was the push-ups that made me struggle. But on L3 it is definitely the chin-ups/pull-ups. Completed 26 rounds.

Great program!
