We had some inlaws visit us this past week. So, I know how you feel. It's hard to keep your routine going. Sounds like you were able to make due. Congrats on that!

Got to keep pluggin away.

Interestingly enough, my son pointed out a rope on a tree from a swing. he wanted me to try it and I got silly enough to hop on that sucker. I got about 20 feet I think before I came back down. I was amazed how much that kills your grip!

It was a very small line though. got to get a climbing rope I think...

This was the hardest workout I've done to date. Came very close to meeting pukie today. My hands are shaking as I type. Biceps are killing me.

Got to make a correction. I didn't remove the rest periods. So it was actually 13:09.

1.5 mile run today. Did intervels of 2 min at 70% and 1 min sprints:


Not too bad it's slowly working downwards.

Gahhh totally messed this one up today. Lost count twice so I'm not sure what my total is. Only going to count what I'm sure of.

18 rounds. thats 3 in a row.

Gonna have to make a change soon I think. Pullups gave me a lot of trouble today. Wasn't as tired over all as I have been but I was fatigued on the pullups pretty good. Pushups and squats were solid.

Could be. I did miss a fair chunk of last week. I'll probably do a week where I skip everything and just work on form for the cross fit stuff. See how that goe

Didn't complete L5D3 last week. Kinda did that on purpose as I knew I would be well over time. Ran last night doing some sprints. Unsure of the distance but I was attempting to run 95-100% max capacity.

Did 3 rounds each with enough rest to get my breathing semi-normal (didnt time that)

14 OCT 2007
1st round- 1:43
2nd round- 1:41
3rd round- 1:47

I'll measure distance today and see. I figured the 3rd round was going to be a lot slower but for some reason I maintained pace. Thought I was gonna die before I finished.

*edit---- distance is .27 miles so right around 1/4 mile.... now if only I can keep that pace for a mile I'll be happy!

Anyway this week is supposed to be rest week but I'm going to get silly and try to do the Crossfit WOD's scaled down and see how that goes. So today is going to be:


Three rounds for time:
Run 400 meters
1 1/2 pood Kettlebell X 21 swings (or 55 pound dumbbell swing)
12 Pull-ups

most likely will be one of the two below. I'm doing it mostly for form but I'm also itching to see if I can do this.

3 rounds for time
Run 400 m
35-45 dumbbell/kettlebell swings
12 pull ups
women 25#

3 rounds for time of
run 400 m
15-25# kettlebell/dumbbell swings
9 pull ups (jumping, assisted, or beginner pull ups)

"HELEN" I did as rx'd except for the kettleball. Used a 25 pound dumbell.
That is a whole heck of a lot tougher than it looks. Got a cramp in my right glute on the first set of pullups. god I was chewing nails, I thought I tore a hamstring or glute.

Anyway it was:

3 rounds
400 meter run
21 dumbell swings with 25lbs.
12 pullups

22:37 (stopped for a long time working out the cramp so don't know what I would have done otherwise. no biggie form is the thing here)
