lot of problems with the shoulder last several days. Just been sticking with the physical therapy to see if it will ease off.

ran 20 minutes today. mild run. no POSE or anything.

Surgery really shows how fragile humans are. I had total hip replacement in 2004. Took almost a year to get back to a feeling of normalcy.

Make sure you allow ample time for rest. Your body is working hard healing after the surgery even though it's not noticable.

I'm having hip surgery in May again so I'll be in the same boat. Trying to get myself as strong as possible before that time.

Just be patient. Healing takes time. Nothing you can do to speed it up.

yep so true.

did a 30 minute run on treadmill today and same basic p.t. exercises without passive range of motion. took it easy.

was painting tonight and fell over a gate. that was pleasant. I think I may have broke my big toe not to mention I strained the shoulder again...

sigh.

still having shoulder pain with physical therapy and working out. Decided to just continue P.T. for now and do the wii fit. It's pretty easy and not a lot of strain on my shoulder. The yoga on there seems to be helping quite a bit. Going to see the surgeon next month. Hopefully some good news will be coming forth then.

still doing the physical therapy. I'm getting a fair cardio workout on eliptisizer (no idea how that is spelled) before I start and increasing the hand bike which is helping the shoulder. slow but sure I guess.

ok well, another setback.

My range of motion is still pretty low although better. they don't want any strength training with that arm until it improves. Apparently that is interfering with rom improvement. Soooo im gonna change things, do a lot of cardio, and add other stuff. see how it goes.

well haven't been posting much. However, I've been doing cardio with 1.5 mile jogs and half hour on the hand bike and elliptical. nothin to write home about. I'm following the p.t. guidlines per request so we can get range of motion back up to speed. Some huge improvements with range of motion in the last couple weeks but it's been hell as they are torquing my arm to get it back. I can actually reach the pull up bar unassisted which is saying a lot. Gettin close. Few more weeks.

Basically I've been 3 days a week of cardio and all the p.t. stuff. I'm doing much like they have asked me to and avoiding any kind of strength training. Getting a bit frustrated at this point. My shoulder is improving but my external rom is crap. There is no way I could attempt overhead squatting due to the loss of range of motion. I can hang on a pullup bar now so thats something. My neighbors must think I'm nuts since they all watch me just hang there doing nothing.

Got four months to fix this then I'm on my own as far as physical therapy goes. Hoping to start working harder on this somehow and get it stretched out.

More p.t. today. Been doing 30 minutes of cardio all week. pretty much hand bike and elliptical. ran 1.5 miles once.

I'm considering adapting a training program and excluding the right arm. Have to work on ideas though. Been worried about getting really fit and having one arm that is really unfit. At this point I think my options are limited. I think I'm going to employ the fit deck system interspersed with yoga and just adapt every workout to be able to do it one handed. Maybe I'll finally get that one-handed pushup heh.
