Decided to do Fit Deck today. almost all were advanced except the pullups. completed 32 cards over 40 minutes. supposed to be 1 min per card. moved through it pretty quickly and thought I stayed under a minute per but apparently not. anyway was pretty tiring not sucking wind though.

interrupted with 39 seconds to go so prbly could have got a few pullups in. started out chest to bar pullups. failed that on 9th rep of 1st round then went to regular pullups.

1.5 mile run 13 min and change didn't get the time as I clicked off the machine. 2 degree incline.
went and got some water then

1.5 mile run 2 deg incline ran intervels lvl 6.0 1/4 mile, 7.0 1/8 mile, I believe was 14:40 but may have been 15:40. having an issue remembering my times today

Ok decided to take a 3 day break with memorial day. came in yesterday all ready to workout and forgot my shoes.
Been looking at and thinking about giving that a go. not sure yet


For time

25 Pullups
5 Burpees
15 pullups
15 burpees
5 pullups
25 burpees

Did pullups from standing position trying to stay under a 15 min mark. initially did 11 pullups deadhang np. slowed significantly after that. burpees were a bitch. TIME 13:04

4 rounds 800 meter or 1/2 mile run 3 minute rest inbetween

1) lvl 8 seven deg incline rapily went to lvl 6 after completing one lap 4:32
2) lvl 7.0 one deg incline 4:22
3) lvl 7.0 two deg incline 4:22
4) lvl 7.0 three deg incline 4:22

wanted to try completing this at lvl 8 all the way but running on the 7 deg incline whooped me very quickly.

found out xfit place near me is closing down :(((
looks like having a trainer is out. however, krav maga is still a good option

practiced overhead squats was going to do snatch balance but the shoulder issue has me scared and my margin for error is very limited due to equipment constraints.

decided to lift squat and bench and see how far up I could go before I would really be struggling.

135- 1
185- 1
195- 1

175- 1

Never really struggled too hard on either one. Pretty sure in another 10 lbs on bench I would have had a hard push. Felt pretty good. Think I need to play with the heavy lifts for a while to get back into a comfort zone.

this sucked got 13 deadhang pullups before I had to rest then did mostly standing pullups. db swings were pretty easy so too light there.
the double unders ate me alive I tried to do it 4 reps then a double under as I can't do it consistently. basically it was jump jump jump DU. very difficult. about 15 reps into it I was failing the doubleunder a lot gasping for breath. I did finish so that was good.
OHS difficult as usual but I completed them without weight dropping too far forward. thats something at least.

Deadlift 155 lbs
pushpress 95 lbs


I really bit off more than I could chew today. The deadlifts were ok, squats sucked, but on rep 4 of pushpress had immediate left shoulder pain and though I injured it. I was very fatigued and rested it out a bit to see. Resolved quickly. Was nervous about the weight and went to 25 lbs dumbells. The fatigue was tremendous and only completed to reps 15 at 16 min 34 seconds. Besides the left shoulder issue (I don't think its injured thank god) I noticed several problems today:

1. Not getting enough sleep
2. dehydrated
3. poor eating habits for 2 days due to a painful lesion on the roof of my mouth after burning it.

Edit: forgot to put this in 11 Jun 2011 went to a bouldering facility and climbed for 3 hours. was a lot of fun. Feet hurt from the shoes but was pretty cool

"Small" puppy version
3 rnds FT
500 meter row did approx 2 min each round rower didn't measure distance so approximated time. don't think it was very accurate
20 burpees
20 box jumps 20" had to use 45 lbs plates
400 metre run (equivalent of 1/4 mile) 4 degree incline ran lvl 7.5 last round had to slow to 7.0 at 1/8 mile in.

This was very hard. Sucking wind bad on this. time should have been shorter. I stopped and was walking trying to catch breath and forgot to stop the watch. anywhere from 3-5 minutes.

decided to start doing progressions from lighter weights I know I can handle into the heavier realm. 175 was actually troublesome. thought it would be easy. did five reps with ab wheel when I was done. just testing waters with it.

95 lbs thrusters

decided to start at 75 lbs. thought that would be good. Really slogged through to rep 14 and decided I needed to go down in weight. Shoulder started bugging me and hurts now on anterior portion. ended up doing 45 lbs.

OHS 45 lbs 15 reps

Really struggling with OHS. My knees go way forward on this movement. No pain but feels very awkward. First time using a barbell and not dumbells. shoulders feel unstable through movement. Failed completely on last 2 reps of 3rd round. Very pissed off because it was just a measly 2 reps but I couldn't hold it up there.

time- 19:16

did some yoga and stretching afterwards 20 min or so.

Tried to do Chelsea today which is our simplefit version of L8D1 except it is every minute on the minute for 30 minutes:

5 pullups
10 pushups
15 squats

I wanted to see how far into the 30 minute run I could get but rapidly deteriorated and was still doing squats when the buzzer went off in round 4. Essentially since I couldn't complete decided to change the name to Cindy instead heh which is AMRAP of L8D1in 20 minutes.

completed 9 rounds + 4 pushups

the pushups really slowed me down however the pullups were more standing vs. straight deadhang so not sure if it would have become more difficult or not.

added 20 minutes of yoga and stretching today.

Decided to take an easy run outside. First time in a long time actually hitting the road. Felt good.
