D2L8:- Untimed and UNFINISHED.
I was super tired and didn't see the point in doing the last two rounds given how damn slow I was moving.

Congratulations on that partnership! That's a big life accomplishment (almost as impressive as getting to level eight). I suppose you'll have to start working out in a suit and tie now.

D2L6:- ≈10:54 (with 20 lb weighted vest)
01:27
01:27
02:00
02:30
≈03:30
I got my weight vest and used it today. It holds up to 40 lbs, but I only used 20.
A normal L6D2 goes like this:
The rounds are usually around the one minute mark. Usually my first round is slow (due to using this round as my warm-up). I pick up speed on the second and third rounds. I slow down a bit on the fourth and, on the fifth, I am usually as slow as the first round.
With the vest, I got slower and slower as I went through the rounds, starting at around 01:30 and needing more than three minutes for the fifth round. I definitely went to failure on the push-ups, and the final few pull-ups of the final two rounds of those were pretty shitty, so I guess I went to failure on those too. I think that means it was a great workout, because it felt like a beginner workout. "Ooohh, this is so easy!" followed a short while later by "OMG what is happening to me I am going to die!" (Not really—I feel a lot of things during exercise, but "like I am going to die" isn't one of them.)

Anyone can work out when they are energized. It's doing the workout when you are tired and not in the mood that really gets the points (not to mention the points you get for even standing in the proximity of L8)

Great job with the weight vest! It will be interesting to see how that affects your performance when you return to the un-weighted variety.

D2L6:
Saturday, July 21, 2012
D3L6:- 07:04 (-01:41 cf. previous, +02:11 cf. PR)
32: 14-6-2-3-3-2-1-1
64: 27-5-6-6-6-4
64: 64
I have been using a weighted vest on Day 1 and 2 for the last two weeks, so I was looking forward to a new PR on Day 3, but it was not to be. For me to get in the range of a PR, I have to get at least 18-20 reps on the first set of pull-ups. I managed only 14. On the plus side, they were done with full extension and did feel a lot easier than usual.

Does the weight vest really kill you on the pull-ups? Or does it have an equal effect on push-ups and squats too?

Day 2 has always been surprisingly hard. Even without the vest, it is rare that I get through all reps of push-ups in a single set during the last two rounds. Adding the weight vest hasn't helped with that! Also, I am having to break up the pull-ups in the last two rounds as well.
