Week 3 Day 3: 4:51 (L3)

My form on the last few pushups and pullups was pretty off, but I made it through. Definitely the hardest day three yet. I'll try level four next, but I think that's where I'm going to linger for a while.

Week 4 Day 1: 23 rounds (L4)

I did the same number of rounds as last week, but went up a level.

Week 4 Day 2: 4:44 (L4)

Squats and pullups have gotten easier. Pushups were tough in the last two rounds. Not as exhausting as last week (L3), based on what I wrote then. L4D3 looks like it's going to be tough!

Week 4 Day 3: 5:24 (L4)

I was failing pullups and pushups toward the end but managed to finish after resting for a bit. It didn't help that my chest and shoulders were still a little tight from the other day. I really wanted to get to level 5, but it looks like I've hit my limit for the time being.

You will probably find that you progress in one move and lose a bit in the others - and then it switches. It takes a while for your body's abilities to level out. The by-product of this leveling is strength gains!

Week 4 Day 1: 24–25 rounds (L4)

I lost count near the end. Good cardiovascular workout.

Week 5 Day 2: 4:32 (L4)

12-second improvement and less pain than last week on the same level. I'm optimistic about day 3.

Week 6 Day 1: 21 rounds (L5)

I was tired and didn't push myself as hard as I could have. The running (alternate days) might be wearing me out. I will take a week off soon to recover.

I had 3 weeks of 21 rounds on L5D1. I just did 22 rounds on Monday. It wasn't easy!

Week 6 Day 2: 5:48 (L5)

I was hitting 1:00 consistently until losing steam on pushups in the last round.

This week I've been taking a break from Simplefit. I continued my running program and tried lifting weights for a day. I will resume where I left off at level 5.

Meanwhile, my blood pressure has been very good, although I need to have my doctor confirm the numbers. As a reward, I bought myself a new mp3 player.

I am starting a new job this week with pretty long hours, so I may need some extra motivation. I'm afraid the added work stress might throw my blood pressure off again, but, unlike in the past, I have a way to work off that stress now.

Week 7 (not counting last week) Day 1: 24 rounds (L5)

I started again yesterday after a week off. It was the least exhausting day 1 I've ever had, and I did 3 more rounds than last time. Possible reasons:

1) The week off gave my muscles time to recover.
2) My endurance has improved from Couch-to-5K.
3) I was listening to a podcast on my new mp3 player, which kept my mind off of the exercise.

Week 7 Day 2: 4:32 (L5)

My time dropped by more than a minute. I had to check that I did the right level, because the workout was so much easier than last time.
