I've been lifting roughly since July 2008. I'm doing - more or less - the Starting Strength routine (by Mark Rippetoe), which I can highly recommend, by the way.

As I'm using my room, I don't have a squat rack or a platform, or a bench, which limits my lifting somewhat. Still, I feel it nicely complements simplefit.
Basically, I'm following a 5/2 schedule: 5 days of working out, two days rest.

Cool, I've read really good things about Starting Strength. Have you bulked up a lot? I don't want to particularly get bulkier, but add mass (to effeciently burn calories) and tone.

I didn't bulk up much (in fact, even using the word "bulk" is misleading. I'm still lightweight). I've definitely gotten into shape, though, and added muscle. Of course, I'm not strictly following the program, either; and I still do simplefit.

Thanks a lot for the info on lifting. I don't want to get into it yet, as I mentioned (about 3 months out). It's motivating to hear from someone who has. Much appreciated.

The timer didn't work properly, and my shoes are not suited for push ups or squats (usually I work out barefoot).

Felt cocky, and loaded the DLs heavier than intended. Also, increased Presses. Both increases went well.

Accidentally, I used a 24,5 kg barbell, instead of using the same weight as last time. Which makes comparing results a bit pointless.
