A long cold ride

Post by changeup » Mon Aug 17, 2009 5:36 pm

I find it hard to train without purpose and direction.

Just getting "fit" for the sake of getting "fit" doesn't do it for me. But I have to say, I do admire people who can train with that single minded purpose.

So here is my goal.... Sunday April, 18, 2010 -- a very long slog.

I will keep you posted on my training. And yes, SF is, and will continue to be, a main part of my training.

i know exactly what you mean: when i was an avid road runner, i had to have a race in my sights to train for, otherwise the will power was just lacking to get on the road to train.
now, some 15 years later, i'm doing SF "just getting "fit" for the sake of getting "fit" "!!!
good luck with your training - keep that goal in mind and keep us posted.

Doing things like rowing or biking seems like fun. Going to the gym seems like work. But this race will get me focused on doing that as well as straight road work.

I even like to do Simple Fit outside, which sometimes gets sideways looks from others.
