Jenny's Goals

Postby jennyfit » Mon Sep 21, 2009 1:01 pm

Hello I first logged in earlier this month, and it took me awhile to get started, but I'm here. I'm 28, 223 lbs, doing push-ups on my knees, I tend to wobble if not fall over on squats, and I'm terrified i'm going to lose my grip and crack my head on the ground with the body rows. For me this is more about being able to do things than getting skinny. Thankfully losing weight is apart of being able to one day do a real pushup, pullup, or dare to dream muscle-up. I've been pretty diligent with the diet and have lost 15 lbs so far. I believe adding the rest should only excellerate this. So here's the plan....

1. To last the whole 20 minutes on L1D1, and continue being diligent with the paleo diet.
2. For the first month to become more comfortable with paleo diet, to do some physical activity 6 days a week whether SF or not.
3. 2nd month, get settled into the 3 day SF workouts, eating, and logging in to the site faithfully.
4. By the end of the 1st qtr - 203 lbs, no sub push-ups, less assisted squats, still faithful in diet, and logging.
5. End of the 2nd qtr - 182 lbs, proper push-ups, proper squats, able to practice negatives for pullups. Faithful again with diet and being accountable on here.
6. 3rd qtr, end of June 2010, 161 lbs, capable of one pull-up(however I can mange ie. grips, kipping, jumping) strong on everything else, diet and log.
7. By September 2010, 140 lbs, able to do, L1D1,2,&3 with no substitutions. Continue to log in regularly, and eat well.

Sounds like a realistic and excellent plan! You may even be able to achieve some of those goals ahead of schedule. Go for it and keep the log going even if you falter occasionally. I have found that logging every day, even when I don't exercise (YARD - yet another rest day), keeps my motivation going.

I knew it would end up sounding repetitive, but the logging in everyday and proper nutrition is at least 2/3 of what it takes to meet (perhaps exceed) my goals in my opinion.

May I suggest that you throw a sport into your regime? Is there a dragonboat team or fun soccer or ultimate frisbee or crossfit in your area? Getting fit while you are learning a skill is so much more fun and you get to meet cool people who are active and pretty relaxed.

I really admire your progress in such a short time. Good luck with your goals.

I'm actually looking around to do just that.

I'm intimidated by crossfit. I also can't afford it at the moment. Wanting to do that is what brought me here. I'm taking some dancing lessons at the moment, its definitely helping with coordination and flexibility, but I would love to find a soccer team. I don't know anything about ultimate frisbee. I have to admit I'm really quite intimidated by any sport. I never been athletic, never played anything. But I'm still looking around. I'll keep you posted on the progess for sure.

Dance is fantastic. Seems like you've got it together on that front. Ultimate frisbee is good if you've never done organized sport because it has a really inclusive atmosphere. There are lots of fun leagues.

PS: Nice having another female on the site!

I had to cancel my class on saturday. I've been sick for the past two weeks, and as soon as I think i'm getting better I get worse. So I will have to reschedule as soon as i'm all better for sure. I was so bummed too.
