First setback... accountability, please

Post by flutterby » Sat Apr 21, 2007 9:59 pm

OK, here's the sitch. This past week has been perhaps the most unbelievable in my life. My husband and I own two businesses -- a joint venture with the parent company. We have found ourselves in the midst of hostile takeover as of this past weekend. This week has been un-frickin-believable as we have tried to pre-empt those things put in motion and save our businesses, our livelihood. Frick frick frick.

It looks as though we will be able to preserve one of them, no thanks to the suck-ass-old-boys-club corporation we find ourselves in bed with. So, we are breathing a little bit easier, and I hope to get some actual sleep in the days ahead.

Anyway, I'm posting because for the past five or six days I have not kept any form of my nutrition or exercise plan in the least bit. No use crying over spilt milk as they say, nothing to do but move forward.

So, as of tomorrow morning, Flutterby is back kicking ass and taking names. Nutrition? Check. Exercise? Checkity check. Stickin' it to the Man? You better effing believe it.

Anyhow, I know that the first three days will be the hardest, not only will I be getting back into routine but we are prepping for a three-day Open House starting the day after tomorrow. (Thank you, you effing buggery buggers that are trying to ruin my life and now I am selling my home...! #$@!!!&$#%) So, I will be posting my food log and exercise here for the next three days. Just for some extra accountability and support.

You know what Flutterby, as the old cliche says "What doesnt kill you, only makes you stronger" and this couldnt be more true for you. You have not let this "setback" keep you in the dumps - in fact you are using your frustration and anger in such a positive way. Good for you!!!! Put those emotions into you, and the results are going to be amazing. I am hoping that I have that when life TRIES to kick me in the teeth too....Thanks for the post!

What is it they say about the best laid plans of mice and men?

Yesterday I started out well with my nutrition. I got through to the afternoon and then was hit with a migraine. I guess it was to be expected considering what stress we've been under the past week. Still no fun, though.

I only started emerging from the fog this morning. I've not eaten much today and am feeling pretty weak. So, those three days I was talking about? Yeah, those ones... they'll be starting tomorrow.

Thanks for your encouragement, everyone. I'll get this train back on track, yet!
