dgkimptons progress

Postby dgkimpton » Tue May 22, 2007 10:47 am

It's about time I actually started tracking my progress if I'm actually going to make any ;)

So here we are:

Today, lvl 1 day 2: 5 rounds in 4:50
Weight: 70Kg

Problem areas: Tight upper leg muscles on the front, tight calves, and inability to get my neck above the bar on a slightly greater than shoulder with pull up grip.

{edit}
Oh yeah - I ordered some rings too. I remember having mucho fun with them as kid - heres hoping the fun is still there ;)

Lvl 1 Day 3 : 4:10

One more round at lvl 1 and then I'm feeling about ready to move up to lvl 2.

Lvl1 day 1 : 29 rounds.

Unfortunately I just realised I'm cheating on the pull-ups. I've been working with the bar too low - meaning that my arms weren't fully extended at the start.

If I fully extend my arms before I begin I can't yet squeeze out a single pull-up :(

Hi and welcome !

regarding pullups, well it's all a matter of time really.

Regarding tightness : stretching really helps here. You should look for exercices that work for you.

And by the way, from my understanding, the "Progress" section of the forum is here to celebrate the occasions when you move to the next level. The "workout log" is where you actually describe your workouts

Have fun !!

Doh. I kinda assumed the goals section was where you would celebrate achievements... one goal completed on to the next type of thing. Ah well.

Stretches I'm working on - but my upper legs have a long way to go.

I've noticed significant improvements lately and tonight I got a little nuts (captain impatient here) and squeezed out 60 pushups and 15 pullups in about 30 minutes (yeah no squats - my knee was hurting).

So, I think it's time to move up to lvl 2 tomorrow - whee :) Didn't think I'd ever get that far when I started... but I'm actually having fun :D
