I don't know how I missed this for so long, but better late then never.

My immediate goal is to once again reach double-digit pull-up numbers. I want 10 in a row by the opening day of elk season, Oct. 1, 2007.

More long-term I want to do the 'girls' over at crossfit. Wait, maybe I should re-phrase that... ahem, I mean 'the girls WOD's'. Towards that end, I picked two I want to conquer first. One has more to do with endurance, the other strength. More important, I think I can be doing these two fairly soon, perhaps within the next 6 to 8 months. Here they are:


5 pull-ups
10 push-ups
15 squats
max rounds in 20 minutes.

and also 'Grace'

clean & jerk 135#, 30 reps for time.

I like the simplicity and functionality of these two together. An added benefit is, I don't have to run to achieve them! :D

Good goal-setting! I need to post mine soon as well, thanks for the reminder.

Cindy is basically Simplefit level 8, so you'll get there by following this very path.

Grace is a bit different. I don't know if you've done much lifting before, but the c&j is a very technical lift and requires a lot of practice.

Hey, you're right! Cindy is level 8! Cool.

I know the c&j is kinda technical, but for me, it's easier and more functional then the snatch. Now there's a difficult lift.


Wow. That video just blew me away. In some ways it's inspiring and in others it's just depressing. I'm inspired because if they can do it, I should be able to do it eventually. I'm depressed because I know there's lots of hard work ahead between now and then.

Another observation. I'm completely bowled over by the effect of consistent crossfitting on the female body. Holy cow. The beauty, grace, strength and power they've achieved is wonderful to behold. The accomplished male crossfitters must really be animals!

Goal 1, 10 pull-ups in a row (parallel grip) achieved 9/14/07. Two weeks ahead of schedule. Boo-ya!

I have Cindy & Grace in my sights. I want to achieve them both by my first SimpleFit anniversary, the first week in June '08.

Congratulation on reaching that goal.

I just watched that video for the first time and I was impressed, at first, then I was flabbergasted when I realized that they were doing rounds.

I want to get a pair of rings. They look useful.
