Firedepot's Progress Report
Posted: Wed Nov 28, 2007 4:12 am
On my first try at Level 2, I am progressing well. Day 1: 33 rounds. Day 2: I took the correct rest time, and had no problems. I even did 20 HARD minutes on the Treadclimber, and still had energy. I'll try Day 3 Friday, to get ample rest beforehand. I began at 160, and this morning, I am at 154. The goal is still the 140's by New Year's. I'll be ramping up my cardio after Day 2.
1 More Pound!

Weiged first thing this morning: Down from 154 to 153.2. Looks like the 140's are a couple of weeks away!

Remember you are trading fat for muscle and muscle is heavier than fat.
The best way to track progress is to measure at your belly button with a tape.
Great work keep it up.

I gained at first and lost 2 inches in my waist. I've lost a whopping total of 10 lbs since April. I'm glad!

Down to 151 lbs. this morning, and 32 waist pants are very comfortable. I'm getting compliments from old friends every day, and folks are beginning to ask me for advice on diet and exercise.
So, that's roughly 8-9 lbs since I started exercising again on November 9th, 2007, and 2 waist sizes. My first Simplefit workout was on November 16th, 2007. At that time, I was at 158 lbs. The 140's are well within reach by New Year's. I'm thinking I'll make it before Christmas!

That's excellent results. I don't want to be a wet blanket I just want to let you know not to be dissappointed if the weight starts to drop more slowly. I started losing about 4 pounds a week when I first started and later it took about another month to get from 180 to 175, my goal weight.
We can't control results only the intense and focused effort we put into it.

Yeah I know the stalled progress might come, and that's why I'm cutting almost all of the dairy out, and increasing the protein.
Also, I had a physical yesterday, and my total cholesterol dropped from 299 to 239 since 2003(last time it was checked), and my blood pressure dropped from an average of 140/90(last time it was officially checked in 2003) to an average of 121/76. This is without medications.

Going to start L3D1 today or tomorrow. I've got a GXT Stress Test in the morning at 7 am. I guess I'll get my cardio in then.....

Graded Exercise Test ( Treadmill )
Posted: Fri Dec 14, 2007 6:24 am
Just finished up my GXT Stress Test. It took over 13 minutes to reach my target heart rate of 167. I made it to Stage 5 of 6 on the treadmill. I think I was running at approx. 5 MPH at an 18% grade on the final stage. The doctor said that everything looked great!
If you all haven't ever had a physical that includes the GXT, I would recommend it.

First, let me just say that I know it's hardly even comparable to a professional administering a GXT test but I have been monitoring my progress on the Precor elliptical machines. They have a fitness test that supposedly calculates your VO2 max although I'm sure it's not as accurate as one of those tests that you have to wear a max and they actually measure your VO2. However, I started with a VO2 calculation of 39 (medium fitness) and today it tells me that I'm at 47 which the machine tells me is "EXCELLENT" :D
I would like to do a GXT though.
