3 minutes rest?!

Postby Annika » Sat Jun 12, 2010 2:17 pm

I'm brand new to the program and today did Level 1, Day 2. My rounds took roughly a minute per round. Resting for a full three minutes between rounds seems like a very long time after only one minute of working out! What is the rationale behind such a long rest period? Do I really need to rest for such a long time?

Thank you!

Thanks for that, Smooth. Adequate rest makes sense if each round is challenging enough. The rounds feel extremely easy for me, but I'm using a light resistance band for pullups and doing knee pushups. I'm unable to do more than one unassisted pullup and only three real pushups, so I feel like I have to do the "girl" versions. I think I'll do a shorter rest for now since I feel completely rested after a much shorter time.

my rests were shorter when I first started out, but now that I'm working to incorporate more "real" pushups - I find that I do better with more rest...
