cemdev's baby steps log

Postby cemdev » Fri Aug 27, 2010 4:08 pm

Started simplefit 2 weeks ago. I'm in barely decent shape, have 10-15 lbs of extra fat on me. I'm relatively active, but usually the last guy up the hills on my bike etc.

Lvl 1, Day 1 - 27 rounds (went pretty easy)
Lvl 1, Day 3 - 2:47 seconds
(i did day 2 as well, i just don't time it, so I won't mention it in this log again unless for some reason I skip it)

Lvl2, Day 1 - 31 rounds (pushed harder)
Lvl2, Day 3 - 3:06 seconds (today) had to take 2 brief rests on pullups and 1 rest on pushups

next week, lvl 3. I think I'll probably go straight through to 5 and then get stuck there for a while, although the lvl4 day 3 has me a little worried!

I'm doing pullups on a makeshift rope with 2 climbing carabiners attached to the end suspended from the balcony above my garden (like rings, just a little trickier to get a proper hold of). I don't know if this is easier or harder than a bar. I'll be moving in October, I hope to have a place to set up a bar there. pushups and squats are regular.

thanks Ruli!

Okay, straight to level 5 might have been a tad ambitious. I'm onto level 4, but without much room to spare.

L3D1 - 17 rounds (ouch!) doubling the pull-ups from last week killed me (also, i screwed up and did the L4 exercises for the first 10 rounds)
L3D3 - 4:38. Pass. (10-4-2 pullups) (20-9-4 pushups) (33 squats)

Onto level 4, next friday I'll really have to push hard to pass.

I didn't think today would take that long. I wonder - the last 2 fridays I did after 2.5 hours of rollerblading (after a bit of a break). This time I did it before. I think I'll go back to after next week.

L4D3 - 5:06. Fail. (12-4-2-2 pullups) (22-8-5-4-2 pushups) (41 squats)

so close. next week.

Hi Ruli,

yes, on level 5. This week I did level 1 (go back a few lvls once a month or so as per the recommendations). I like that because you really get to see your progress.

L1D1 - 50 rounds! (27 first time i did it)
L1D3 - 1:22 seconds (2:47 the first time i did it)
skipped day 2 (hey, it's meant to be a recovery week!)

seriously, i'm shocked at the level of progression. next week, level 5. i imagine i will be on level 5 for a little while.

Well, I moved house, then got sick, and simplefit fell to the wayside. I'm bringing it back now for round 2. This time I have a proper pullup bar too.

Back to level 1 though, cause there's no way I'm starting off at 5.

Day 1: 45 rounds
Day 3: 1:46 (7-3 pullups, 21 pushups, 21 squats)

(skipped day 2, snowboarded 3 times this week and felt really sore)

On to level 2 (again)

Day 1: 38 rounds (31 first time)
Day 3: 2:38 (8-3-2 pullups, 26 pushups, 26 squats) (3:06 first time)

On to level 3
