The standard substitution for 1 pull-up is 3 body-rows, so the workout you did is Day 1, Level 1, but with an extra push-up...and you ran out of gas on the push-ups. So, yes, going down to 2 push-ups is a good idea.
You say you weren't sweaty, but don't say how many rounds you managed, so it is hard to evaluate how hard you were working. I'll just say that you should be hot and sweaty after Day 1. If you're not, work harder.
That said, you're just starting out, so I would say that just going through the motions and getting a feel for the program without making yourself incredibly sore (which is what usually happens after a beginner's first SF workout) is not a bad way to start.
