onewing's log

Postby onewing » Thu Feb 16, 2012 11:14 am

Hey guys,

I am a 30 year old, about 5"10 200 lbs. Just getting sick of being so out of shape and looking to get a little more fit and improve my health. I have no specific goal weight in mind, just looking to feel a bit better.

Started with the Level 1 Day 1, and got 32 reps in. I had to sub 3 body rows for pull ups as I am unable to do them at this time (don't have the bar yet either). I know the diet will be my biggest hurdle however, as I eat horribly bad processed foods all the time. Anyways just wanted to check in and make myself more accountable to continuing to improve.

Welcome on board! You'll find several others here at a similar stage. The trick is consistency and, I'm sorry to report, moving away from the processed foods.

It just takes 20 minutes Monday and Wednesday and 10 minutes on Friday. Once you get into it a little bit you'll want to do some of the food things to help improve your simplefit times.

Thanks for the encouragement, KTG. I am going to work with someone I know (who lost 80pds in 1 year) to get a dietary plan in place ASAP.

L1D2 results are (Still using 3x body rows in place of 1 pull up): 5 reps in 3 minutes and 45 seconds. Push ups were the hardest part, and If I had to do any more I'm not sure I could have done many more. Pretty sore in the muscles under my armpits. But i guess that comes with being so out of shape!

L1D3: still using body rows (expect to be doing so for a while) 2 minutes 35 seconds. Pushups once again are the hardest by far, and my muscles are still sore from day 2 to be honest. When I started I thought I was going to just to it every second day, but my body feels like it needs a two day break from those pushups at this time. I am thinking about working some cardio into my days off routine however. I would like something I am able to do at home as its harder to find excuses to not get it done. The only two things I can think of are stair climbs and jump rope, does anyone have any suggestions about these?

Also, this time means I will be doing L2 next week, is that correct?

L2D1: Still sore from last week, felt the strain much earlier in the workout. 30 reps today, but I worked significantly harder to achieve that. Much more tired and sweaty then I was on level 1, but it feels good.

Great job! That's a great start for the level. You should be on to L3 pretty soon. The trick will be figuring out the transition to regular pulls.

L2D2: 5 minutes and 20 secs.

Yeah I don't really have the doorways for a pull up bar, so im trying to figure out an alternative now. Still, I don't think I am any where near being able to do one yet, I haven't been able to do them since I was about 10 years old. I am looking forward to being stuck on a level (I expect level 3), so I can try to push myself more.

Nice work! That's really smashing it. I always level up with just a couple of seconds to spare.
