Cool Running. L2D2 Walk 5min, DO jog 90sec, walk 120sec UNTIL 20 min

RTB time 22:52, an improvement of 17 seconds over D1. I screwed up my timing and shorted one of my jogging portions, so I extended my next jog.

L2D2: body rows times 3 subbed for pullups. 5:45

Cool running L2D3: 5min warmup walk, then alternate 90 secs jogging with 2 min walking till 20 minutes passed. RTB time 21:54 almost an entire MINUTE faster than the last time I ran the course. I really pushed it this time, too.

I'm beat.

W4 L2D3: 39 body rows, 26 pushups, 26 squats
7:04

Oh, and things are done between me and the young lady navy recruit who inspired me to get fit. Ah, well. If I keep this up, I'll live another ten or fifteen years.

Running. Level 3 Day 1

5 minute warmup walk, FOR i=1 to 2, 90 sec jog, 90 sec walk, 3 minute jog (OUCH!), 3 minute walk, NEXT i

RTB=24:32. I went past my house, so from hear on, an increasing RTB time means that I'm moving faster and farther.

W5 L2 D1: 23 rounds. 3 body rows, 3 pushups, 4 squats

That's an improvement of 2 rounds. Those last few rounds took a minute apiece it seems like. Things seem to slow waaaaaaaaaaay down when you get the 18 minute mark.

I'm pouring with sweat. I hope this is worth it. Being healthy is great, but it'd be nice to have somone to show off the manscaping to, you know?

Running. Level 3 Day 2

5 minute warmup walk, FOR i=1 to 2, 90 sec jog, 90 sec walk, 3 minute jog (OUCH!), 3 minute walk, NEXT i

RTB=27:07. That means I made improved my time by 2:37 seconds. That's a ten percent improvement over Level 3 day 1. :)

Way to go,

I'm sure there's someone who'll appreciate your hard work sometime. My wife thinks I'm too thin, I think she's jealous :-)

W5 L2D2 6:03 a slowdown of 18 seconds.

And I heard from Miss Navy. It was a ruse to get her parents off her case. She didn't want to break up with me at all, but they were making her life unlivable. They weren't content with us agreeing to stop seeing each other and merely talk via email, tehy kept pushing and pushing... but now the drama is gone until she leaves for bootcamp, whereupon she says she will write me. So yay!

Running. Level 3 Day 3

5 minute warmup walk, FOR i=1 to 2, 90 sec jog, 90 sec walk, 3 minute jog (OUCH!), 3 minute walk, NEXT i

RTB=27:30. That's right at a 3 minute improvement in distance. I didn't have to cheat at all during the 3 minute jog portions... last time I stopped at 2 minutes and then jogged for 1 minute of my 3 minute walk period. I did it correctly the whole way through this time. Level 4 starts Sunday.

To celebrate the reopening of communications with Miss Navy again, I decided to see how I stack up agains the Navy's fitness requirements. She passed her Initial Fitness Assessment (pre-boot camp) today. :)

http://usmilitary.about.com/library/mil ... e35-39.htm

I did 28 pushups in 2 minutes. By itself, that's barely even Probationary. (37 to pass Basic Training, 33 to pass afterwards.. and those are the BARE minimums).
I did 37 situps in 2 minutes. By itself, that's also just barely Probationary.(47 to bass Basic, 40 to pass afterwards).
My current c25k level puts me running about 1 and a third miles in 18 minutes... and the Navy requires that you run a mile and a HALF in at LEAST 15:00 to even be Probationary. The times don't even list anything slower than 15 mnutes. (14:08 to pass basic, 14:45 afterwards)

So. Looks like I would fail miserably. :) Well, the running part that is. And I'm working on that. I'm almost to Satisfactory when it comes to pushups and situps. :) I think I'll retest myself every Saturday or something like that. That's the day that we would usually go on dates. When she gets back from boot camp I want her to like what she sees, assuming that she still wants to start over again at that point.

And even if she doesn't, I'm going to be in the best shape I've ever been in in my life. I won't die before I'm 60. Not from not taking care of myself.

W5 L2D3 39 body rows, 26 pushups, 26 squats
6:24

An improvement over 7:04 Looks as if I can look forward to Level Two for a couple of more weeks still.

I can not believe I just did that.

Cool Running c25k Level 4: walk 5 min, jog 3 min walk 90 sec jog 5 min walk 90 sec jog 3 min walk 90 sec jog 5 min, RTB

RTB time was 32:30. I am proud to say that I didn't cheat at all by trading jogging and walking time. After the first 3 minute jog I was like, "Hey, this ain't so bad! I can do this!" The 5 minute jogging portions put that into perspective REAL quick.

I wanted so badly to quit during that last 5 minute job. But I knew that I needed to establish a baseline for the next two times that I make this particular run, I didn't want to waste the effort I'd already put into it, and I thought what Miss Red might think should she read this. :) So I got through it.

The fat is melting off of me. I've got muscles that are either growing, or emerging from beneath the layer of fat that was hiding them from view. I've got energy and strength. I feel virile, vigorous, and potent. :) *flexes*

Yeah, I'm sure there's a bunch of folks out there who would laugh at my current level of fitness... but I'm getting into the best shape that *I* have ever been in. For *me* it's a big deal. :) So humor me, dammit. :)
