new door pullup bar

Post by court12b » Tue Jan 26, 2010 6:33 am

I followed the link for the chinup bar and found a modified version of it that looks like it might be an improvement on the original design. It looks like this bar puts the grips further out and higher than the original which would get it further away from the door frame when you're doing pullups.

I just ordered it. I'll post my impressions once it arrives.

That is similar to this one which I ordered.

This type of bar puts the pull up bar higher than door frame which can help if your taller or are working from a stool etc.

I chose the Powerbar as it folds flat and can hang in a wardrobe though.

Ok.

Assembly took me about 30 minutes, there are quite a large number of parts (~60) and would probably take most people up to an hour.

The instructions could have been a little clearer but as long as you take the time to familiarize yourself with the parts list it's a breeze.

As far as functionality goes, I weight 230 and felt completely safe on this thing. I really appreciate the way it gets your head and face away from the wall. and gives your more clearance above the floor.

Considering that it's pretty much the same price as the original door gym I'd say that makes this model a better value.
